Q: I just bought a Brother printer but it will NOT operate on OS X 10.10 OS X 10.8 yes but not on 10.10

Bought a new brother printer today and after being on their support line they determined that the printer cannot operate on OS X 10.10 what are my printer options?

iMac (20-inch Early 2008), OS X Yosemite (10.10)
