Q: iWeb not working on yosemite

I installed Yosemite OSX version 10.10 and iWeb is working weird.

If you open a previously existing project, it won't allow to add shapes or text boxes. For instance, when you select to add a Texto box, it will draw the box, bur as soon as you release the mouse button, the drawing disappears leaving no text box at all.

Any suggestions?

I tried deleting the text box and redoing it and enabling a hyperlink to the page within the files--but no go...this little icon comes back.  What does it mean? And the link isn't established either--I get no little blue circle with arrow.

Your screenshots don't show up in your post due to the software used for the forums.  This happens frequently.  Can you describe the icons and try posting the screenshot again?

That is an indication that the text in the text box has been converted to an image.  Delete the text box, add a new one with the text you want to use as a hyperlink, select the text and go to the Inspector/Link/Hyperlink pane and enable the text as a hyperlink.  Changing the text with drop shadow or other enhancements will convert it to an image file.

I believe that's what I did.  I've never had this icon before and there are some text boxes with links that don't have the icon.  Is there a difference from making the text itself the hyperlink and the box a hyperlink?  Geez this is probably more minutae that you wanted.....and I don't know that it really affects the issue I am having with updating the site.

I made the text the link....and at first I got the regular blue circle with the arrow then it changed to the gold headshot icon.

Then I deleted that and went back the box the link -- when you hover it has the link.  As I said, I'm not sure this has anything to do with anything....I will get the same publishing error I started with.

I'm at a loss as to why the link won't work.  Try selecting the text box and setting it as a link.  Publish and give it a try.  What's the URL of the web page so we can examine it first hand?

Not even with the File ➙ Publish Entire Site menu option?  What happens when you try to publish?

Are you able to publish your site to a folder on your hard drive?
