Oct 28, 2014 4:41 PM in response to aj1710by Bob Timmons,Unfortunately, if you check the Specification page for the System Requirements for the new Time Capsule, it reads like this:
Setup and Administration
- iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 6 or later and AirPort Utility 1.3
or
- Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later and AirPort Utility 6.3
http://www.apple.com/airport-time-capsule/specs/
So, if you have a new Time Capsule, you will not be able to use 10.6.8 to set it up and administer it.
If you have an iPhone or iPad handy, that could be used to set up the new Time Capsule.
If not, then you will need to upgrade your Mac to at least Lion (10.7.5) or higher.

Nov 15, 2014 5:07 PM in response to aj1710by aj1710,Hi Bob,
I have upgraded to 10.7.5. and have sorted out my internet connection issue from before. But now when I plug in and try and connect the capsule in airport utility, is will not find the device. It has a message saying "no configured airport base stations have been found. Airport will continue searching"
Any idea what I might still be doing wrong?
Thanks

Then, click on Time Capsule
That will start the setup utility and guide you through
