Oct 25, 2014 1:16 AM in response to GabiTalby NormanS,Gabi, thanks. Will see what happens/results Monday. As for the updated app, appearance wise it adds location functionality only. A function I have found little use for so far.
Further complicated by Iphone (5S) battery life - I now don't seem to be getting the same battery life I did. I suspect the constant Bluetooth connection as a possible cause. Similarly when I streamed some music (intolerable quality) I found the battery life halved in a very short period. So I now switch BT off most of the time. Given that I find it easier and more intuitive to answer/listen to a call in the conventional manner (the 9's seem very good a picking up the phones ear level speaker), the BT phone connection may well be another spurious facility that I don't use. That leaves......... well nothing other than the adjustments to volume. So much for "Made for Iphone". Given that I would expect these aids to last me 5+ years, is this a way of keeping me tied to the Apple environment? Is there an Android app?

Does your ReSound app actually show the battery life? My Enzo 9 apparently still have 100% left after nine days.

Oct 25, 2014 2:14 AM in response to NormanSby GabiTal,My iPhone have the BT on all the time (as I need it also for my car)... so i didn't feel a significant drop....
BTW, from my discussion with the Resound US product director the day before yesterday, I understood that one can ask to program its HA in such a way that you can both adjust volume and programs without the usage of the iPhone, by using the single push bouton of the HA (short press will initiate volume control and a long one - program control (or visa versa). It has to be programmed in the Lab, check and update. Thanks and good luck.

Oct 25, 2014 4:22 AM in response to vikingschoolby NormanS,This very useful thread has concentrated on connectivity issues. Poor audio streaming quality has been mentioned. I have started a new thread on this particular issue and would appreciate any feedback from those who have and continue to comment on this thread.

Oct 27, 2014 9:20 PM in response to vikingschoolby Dunc_F,I am really pleased to see this group. I got my Linx just about the same day they were released. I have been looking for a Google or Yahoo group that might support just a group like this but also be able to send daily summaries of queries.
I did suggest to Resound that they should create a user group as they would benefit from user comments as well as users being able to benefit from a ReSound Rep. But, of course, they have never responded. I still think they should sponsor a group even if they need to use the Google or Yahoo groups to support it.
I have a miserable time in restaurants and some difficulty when driving our RV. I do find that by lowering the Base and slightly increasing the treble helps but it is not a cure for all the background noise. I was interested to see that one of the group does have a restaurant setting. I think I will check into that

Oct 28, 2014 2:10 AM in response to Dunc_Fby IjohnQ ,Hi
Just to say that the restaurant setting I use all the time as my main setting but note that I don't think this is a fixed setting as it is set by your audiologist
NOTE FOR ReSound
PLEASE LET USERS KNOW WHEN YOU HAVE SOFTWARE AND FIRMWARE UPDATES
THANK YOU

Oct 28, 2014 9:52 AM in response to Dunc_Fby cicada11,Hi Dunc_F,
Just for everyone's information, there is a forum for people with hearing aids http://www.hearingaidforums.com
web site that has different discussions on different types of hearing aids and you can ask questions, get information on the particular hearing aids that you wish to see. There is a good deal of info from other Linx 9 users that is very helpful. Just search for Linx or the name of your hearing aids. The people are very nice and very informative. Give it a try for more info and helpful hints on your brand of hearing aids. Go to http://www.hearingaidforums.com/showthread.php?16406-Resound-Linx&highlight=Linx
to find info on the Linx or just search at the top for Linx.
I have 4 different programs set by my audiologist, All Around (use this most of the time), Restaurant (used to bring down the background noise in restaurants and bring up the voices in front of you), Music(for concerts or listening to the stereo at home) and Traffic(similar to Restaurant to bring down the road noise). The audiologist has to set these in their office and you can have the audiologist adjust each program after using it and giving feedback as to what your problems were while using that program. You switch between then in the ReSound Smart app or bt pressing the button on the top of one of the aids. If I am in "All Around" and I do a short press, both aids go to "Restaurant" mode and I get 2 tones telling me thay are in the 2nd program, another short press and they go to Music and I get 3 tones to let me know it is in the 3rd program. Another short press and I get 4 tones telling me they are now in "Traffic mode" One more press and I get 1 tone telling me they are back in "All Around". I hope this helps you some.

Nov 4, 2014 3:52 PM in response to vikingschoolby Mark Johnson7,I got my linx 9 from the VA about a month ago. I only qualified in my left ear so I got one. I have had awful experiences with the streaming audio.bluetooth fouling up my iPhone 5s phone function. I have had several situations where the folks on the other end can hear me but they drop in and out. The manual shows a on off switch for the audio streaming under settings but it does not exist on the phone. I talked with tech support and he agreed it was not there. He also said the Hearing AId audio option on incoming calls was a default set by Apple and they might be changing it. I am grateful that I have the hearing aid and grateful I didn't pay a lot of money for it. Any similar issues?

Nov 4, 2014 4:01 PM in response to Pomadaby Mark Johnson7,I don't have any problem with connecting with bluetooth at all. I just fouls up the audio on the phone and the video.

Nov 4, 2014 4:11 PM in response to vikingschoolby mindsi.d,A brief update from some of my troubleshooting efforts on pairing and streaming (the aids are fine). I’ve been talking to ReSound about this as I’ve had a little time to experiment.
I started with an iPhone 5 and 961. It never worked as advertised with immediate sound disintegration, echoing, and disconnects. I switched to Linx TS (for other reasons) and upgraded the phone to the 6 with 8.1 hoping that would solve things. It’s doing the exact same thing. Most of ReSound response is that a network reset fixes everything for everyone. It doesn’t. After several repairing efforts under a variety of methods, including a factory reset and restore of the phone I’ve found the problem continues. I have finally determined that the bluetooth streaming works when wifi is off. As soon as I turn wifi on the bluetooth connection to the Linx begins to fail. I tried turning airdrop off. That is not the culprit. I have other bluetooth headphones and they work fine.
Suggestions are welcome.

Nov 5, 2014 12:19 PM in response to IjohnQby gnresound,Hi IjohnQ, we’re sorry to hear you’ve been having these issues. It sounds like the majority of your issues stem from iOS 8 and we’re working diligently to address them with Apple. We’re currently testing the latest iOS update to see if it included any fixes. An updated ReSound Smart app (version 1.3) was released a couple weeks ago that provides some improvement in stability and connection. If you continue to encounter issues, please contact our consumer support team at (888) 735-4327 and someone can help you troubleshoot at your convenience.

Nov 5, 2014 3:36 PM in response to vikingschoolby ScaryJerry,Most of you complaining about poor streaming and other issues are perhaps missing the even more important problem with the new Bluetooth standard that Apple and Resound are promoting: Wifi interference. It's a huge issue and is keeping your streaming from working properly.
I have had my Resound Linx for a month and I may be the only one who has tied the new Bluetooth to the main problem of wifi interference. I have personally met with Apple AND Resound reps and have demonstrated the problem on iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+, all running the 8.1 update.
Today I sent 2 painful hours with the audiologist and the Resound Rep while they both fumbled the issue repeatedly. They even replaced both of the hearing aids. I asked the Resound rep a simple question: When and IF a fix comes down from Apple and/or Resound would he guarantee that I will get the fix for free, even if it means Resound has to give me a new version of the hearing aid. He would not commit to anything.
INMO this is all a big fiasco. It doesn't work as advertised. It really barely works at all and in such a way that it not only is not a convenience to the hearing impaired but instead a huge frustration and disappointment. I'm returning mine for a full refund. I'd expect a class action suit will soon follow.
