Q: ifix phone call

Has anyone heard of "ifix"? I just received a phone call from them telling me that I had a lot of errors coming from my computer and they were going to fix it for me. She took me to the "ifix" website and asked me to click on the button that would give her access to my computer. She said she was going to fix the error messages. I did not let her do that, asked to speak to her supervisor (which she wouldn't do), told her that I was going to get more information about her company, and she said she'd call me back. I suggested that she have her supervisor call me back. Anyone ever hear of anything like this?

    Hello PuppyDogMom,

This is a scam which may be used in order to steal information from your computer.

Please follow the steps provided in the link below in order to block this number from calling again -

Understanding call and message blocking on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

In the future, remember that Apple will NEVER contact you regarding errors they have noticed.

The company does not have the staff count in order to do this, and if they did, it would be better incorporated into the OS X operating system.

You made a great decision by not allowing them to have access to your computer.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

    Best of luck,

    Trent Rand
