Q: Yosemite Upgrade Broke Bootcamp

Upgraded to Yosemite and now when I ALT Boot Windows 7 and Recovery partitions no longer show up. Using information from other threads I managed to get my Windows 7 partition to show up but when I select it I receive an ERROR READING DISK message. Is there any way to get this fixed?

    Loner T,

Not sure if you're still around but could use your help.  I had thought I had followed your steps but I seem to have lost my disk partition setup.  I had deleted and rebuilt my get and created a new mbr but I think with my fdisk looking like below...

Any help would be appreciated.  I am running teskdisk now.

    Bruce

I cannot see the image, due to issues with the forum. Can you start a new thread and post the image using an image sharing service?

Hi, why does your step 5 performed in testdisk? not disk?

    5. Once you a working GPT#4, a new hybrid MBR needs to be created which will overwrite what you see in your Fdisk output. This is also done using GPT Fdisk (Gdisk).

    It is using Gdisk.

I am not sure what you are asking to be rolled back.

Sorry just frustrated what I meant to say was, here is my situation

I use bootcamp to boot windows 8 for my networking school work. but i upgraded to yosemite this week and now i can't boot into my windows 8 any more i see the disk, when i hold down the option button and when i select it it appears to attempt to boot, but then goes to a black screen and stays there, its crucial for me to get into that because all of my school work for cisco classes is on that due to needing packet tracer. I don't know what to do, so when i posed the question can i roll back yosemite, what i meant was can i downgrade from yosemite back to maverick and get my access back to my bootcamp OS. earlier i just dropped a quick comment obviously the wrong thing to do was just frustrated I hope this is more descriptive and someone can help me.

    Thanks

    Brian

Please start a new thread. In this article, there are four commands executed from OS X Terminal which would be very helpful in the new thread. The damage has already been done by the Yosemite upgrade. Please post text output of the commands after removing any personal information as you see fit.

Let me know if you need the commands.
