Oct 28, 2014 11:38 AM in response to rubby0913by Loner T,Yes, continue with w and y, and Reboot, before you recreate the MBR. It will need another reboot. Or you can create the Hybrid MBR now. Remember, that you now have only 2 and 3 not 2 3 4 as shown in the Hybrid MBR steps that I posted.

Oct 28, 2014 2:42 PM in response to rubby0913by Loner T,Yes, but install the OS X by selecting the external USB drive and leave the internal drive untouched. My guess is that you used the wrong partition type codes. In your specific case 2 is AF, 3 is 07 and it is marked bootable. AB is meant only for Recovery HD.
