Q: Serial number register to another apple id

I bought my macbook pro from the apple store in mid 2010, and set it up using all my own apple ID and info. I just found out about registering my apple product with my apple ID, so I tried to input the serial number into my apple ID on supportprofile.apple.com , but it says it was already registered with another apple ID. I had only 2 apple ID since the beginning and I tried both, but none of them work. So how do I find out which apple ID my serial # is registered to, or is my macbook too old to be registered?

Thanks in advance

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.3)

A 2010 should show up as registered.

    Hi there,

I am having the exact same problem, only I'm trying to register my iPad 2 from 2010. I too didn't realize that I hadn't registered the product. I normally register everything I buy from Apple right away. How can it be registered to another Apple ID? I only have one Apple ID, and I've had it since 2002, possibly earlier. Have you had any kind of resolution to this issue?

    Cheers

I resolved mine by calling the Support. They will do it for you. They told me the device was registered under my name, but under a different apple id- something i cannot even remember.

    Thank you Debbie!

I really appreciate you getting back to me so quickly! I guess I will call in to support as well. Did they charge you for the inconvenience this has caused?

Thank you so much for passing on your resolution, I really appreciate it!

    Kindest regards,

    Hey Todd,

Oh no not at all.. Im pretty sure they will be more than happy to help you. I believe they will let you talk to the Technical Support Specialist but it wont really take long.

I was actually hesitant to call them coz I read on one forum that you gotta go to power mac and show proof that its yours by showing some invoice - I find that too stressful lol. But yeah, im sure they will do it for you.
