    Hey Naj16,

Wow! I am so sorry to hear that, I would be just as frustrated if my device didn't work as expected. The good news is that you are definitely within your warranty, so let’s check to see if we can isolate the issue to hardware. To do so, please follow the relevant steps in the following resource:

    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting

    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802

Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off

    1. Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.

    2. Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIs and corrosion.

    3. Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.

    4. After at least 30 minutes, if:

    - The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.

    - The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.

    - Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.

    5. If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.

    - If the display turns on, go to step 4.

    - If the display remains black, go to next step.

    6. Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.

    7. If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

If your issue persists after following all of the steps above, your iPhone may need to be serviced. The following link should help you get started with the process:

iPhone Repair and Service - Apple Support

    http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/repair/

    Thanks,

Dead set serious, I have this problem too. ONLY difference is that this is on the same day as when I purchased it. My battery is at 100% and hasn't turned on for a good 7 hours now. However, this occurred when attempting to restore my phone from an iCloud backup. I have tried all these recommendations from that apple specialist and have had no success. I guess I have no option but to set up an appointment with the apple genius bar, as the lady from the apple store told me, and if he can't diagnose the problem, I will get a replacement phone free of charge.

    I have some questions though..

    1. Does this end my warranty? I still want to be able to return the phone if it gets faulty within the one year of purchase in case of any other issues.

    2. When I plug the phone into a wall outlet or into my macbook, I get NIL responses. I've had iPhones for years now and have never seen such unresponsiveness. I'm assuming it's hardware related because of this so how many other iPhones are affected?

    3. People with iPhone 6 Plus', have you tried restoring from backup or currently using iCloud from an older device? Please reply so we can help diagnose this issue!

Note: My phone is literally dead. It's as dead someone replacing the internals of this phone with paperweight. It does not do a thing at this point.

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8.1 on same day as purchase.

Picked up my iPhone 6+ 128g phone today, working fine.  Took home and synced to iTunes--chose restore from my iPhone 5S.  Seem to work fine, got iTunes message that restore was done and that my phone would come back on and show up in iTunes.  Phone went black....and stayed black.  Won't come back on now.  Charged 100%.  If I hold the power button, it shows the Apple logo for a short time, then goes black again.  Tried power and home buttons for 10 seconds, Apple logo comes on.  I let go and after a short while logo is back off.  I hold power and home buttons for longer, logo comes on, stays for a while, goes black for a while, comes back on for a while, goes black again for good.  No clue what to do.  Haven't even made one phone call yet.

I just restored my new iPhone 6 Plus from my itunes backup and it went dead and will not turn back on. When I plug it into my macbook it registers but I can't turn the phone off. I literally have had it out of the box for under an hour. Incredibly disappointed at this.

Naj16-  I just bought my 16gig iphone 6 last night at Costco.  Worked fine last night, fully charged.  Just did a restore to get my texts and photos back from my iPhone 5s and I'm having the same problem!!  Poof....phone wont even turn on.  When I plug it into a wall socket, no indicator that its charging nor will it turn on.  Plug it into my MAC and I can see the phone, but no option to roll back the restore.  I'm not happy at all about this as the phone won't even turn on to attempt any type of repair.  I'm in the same boat my friend.  I'm going back to Costco after work and asking for a new phone.

Update:  Went back to phone store last night.  They tried three different "secret" ways to wipe the phone completely, reload the ROM, so it makes it a brand new phone again.  It took over two hours for them to work on it.  All three methods failed as the phone would not stop being a brick.

Apple then blamed my iTunes and the 5S backup I used saying it corrupted the phone.  I should delete my iTunes and all my backups and reinstall everything.

I said, "Okay if it was my iTunes that corrupted it, should your three attempts at wiping and reloading the ROM work?  Making it a new phone again?"

"Well, yes, it should have." They replied.

"Would my restore from iTunes cause the phone to destroy some mechanics or memory, or would it just have messed up some system files, which you would have been able to easily restore?"  I asked.

"No, the iTunes restore wouldn't have harmed the memory or electronics in any way that we couldn't restore the phone." said they.

"So the phone is defective from the factory, correct?" I said hitting the punchline.

    "Well....yeah." They admitted sheepishly.

Bottom line they try to blame me and my bad iTunes backup, which worked just fine everyday for my iPad and my 5S, until they finally admitted the phone was junk.

They ordered a new one to replace it.  November 21st earliest arrival.  I waited six weeks for this piece of junk and now need to wait another month.

    Not happy, folks.

More Updates:  They restored my phone number back to my 5S.  I took it home and did a restore from iTunes, and it worked perfectly.

to an Apple store until im back in the UK - how annoying!

Complete waste of my money so disappointed.

I had precisely the same problem, my new iPhone 6 'bricked' during the first iTunes sync.  I don't know whether this would work for you, but here is how I fixed it:

I held down the phone's right hand side power button and the front home button at the same time, for about ten seconds.  Then the Apple logo came back on the screen, and after a few minutes I was able to redo the set up process.   I had tried that previously without success, but I hadn't held the two buttons down for long enough - it took about 10 seconds before the phone eventually responded.

Good luck, I know how frustrating problems like this can be!

Hi, almost the same happened to me. I restored the data from my old iPhone 5 to the new iPhone 6 (through iTunes), everything went ok and after the data were restored, the iPhone 6 just died - it had completely black screen and it didn´t react to anything. When I connected it to iTunes, the computer saw it, but I couldn´t restore it or do anything with it and I was completely desperated....but I found somewhere on the that someone once  tried to hold (but with the old iPhone 4) the Wake/Sleep button and the Home button together for 15 seconds, so I tried it for around 20 seconds...and finally the iPhone 6 just woke up!!

Im having the same issues too. Just turned my phone off and when I powered back on it won't leave the apple logo screen. It's a new phone... Only three days with it and I'm already having issues. Very disappointed as well.

    Hi Marti5KL,

Thank for the info. IT WORKED FOR ME AS  "press and hold the Wake/Sleep button and the Home button together for 15 seconds".

I restored the data from my old iPhone 5 to the new iPhone 6 (through iTunes) and then phone died, not powering up. Thank for your info which worked for me.

    Cheers
