Sep 27, 2014 10:46 AM in response to christopherfromsomersworthby Mrs Sarge,so a new iOS update came out, 8.0.1. I installed it but IPad is still really slow, although it doesn't freeze up any more. Guess I'll send them another complaint.

Sep 30, 2014 10:56 AM in response to christopherfromsomersworthby Scouselady,I agree wholeheartedly. My iPad mini is so slow. We have 100 Mgb broadband and it might as well be dial up. Typing lags badly, websites freeze and I find it difficult closing websites as they seem to keep reappearing. Really annoyed! In fact angry!

Sep 30, 2014 11:19 AM in response to Scouseladyby Briansyddall,Have you tried a reset if not go to settings Reset after reset you will need to enter your Router wireless key then wait for set up. This worked for me 4 days no problems since on iPhone 5 s & 2 iPads. Bsydd uk

Sep 30, 2014 11:20 AM in response to Scouseladyby christopherfromsomersworth,I wonder if Apple did this on purpose to get people to buy newer IPads. They must have known how the new IOS would affect older iPads. Why didn't they include a warning with the new IOS or put out a separate IOS that would not adversely affect IPads? You can't tell me someone over there is not smart enough to foresee these problems.

Sep 30, 2014 11:33 AM in response to christopherfromsomersworthby david83,after downloading 8.0 all worked well on the iPad2. Problems you describe after after I tried to download 8.0.2 which still does not get past the "Update Requested" window. Very frustrating. Unable to update apps, not able to use CNBC app any longer. Used it Friday (prior to attempting upgrade 8.0.2.)
8.0.2 works fine on my iPhone 5 but not my ipad2.

Sep 30, 2014 1:02 PM in response to christopherfromsomersworthby Mrs Sarge,I Think this is exactly what is going on. I have a friend with the original iPad and she has not been able to install the last three IOS updates, but I would rather not be able to install than what I am experiencing now.

Sep 30, 2014 1:04 PM in response to Briansyddallby Mrs Sarge,@ briansyddall if I reset, won't I lose everything on my iPad?
-
Sep 30, 2014 1:22 PM in response to Mrs Sargeby Briansyddall,No you won't lose everything on your iPad the reset is different to a factory restore Do the reset NOT THE FACTORY RESTORE. Bsydd uk

Oct 1, 2014 7:39 AM in response to Mrs Sargeby Scouselady,HI
Just been on to Apple and they took over my pc with my iPad Mini connected. It has had a complete restore to what it was like when it came out of the box. The process took about an hour though the tech. guy thought it woukd take several hours. We have super fast broadband so that helped. I am not convinced the lagging typing is sorted. Proof of the pudding so will try it over the next couple of days. I think it is worth you all getting on to Apple so they realise something is very wrong with their latest update!

Oct 29, 2014 8:09 AM in response to Pkosterby LenorefromWayne,I Am having the same problems as everyone else, on both my IPad 2 and my IPad mini. Been to Apple Store twice. They cannot seem to return my pads to the perfect way they were working in 7.1. They stick when I type and freeze on various sites. And going from app to app takes forever. Both IPads are now spinning at the top like my laptop. I am totally disillusioned with the Apple company after this.

Apple TVJust do a reset to the factory default state for your iOS device. It's a good way to clean out any problems in your operating system and get a clean and fresh start. Then you know you're starting from "ground zero" with no system problems on top of it. I would advise not restorying your backup right at first, so you can test out the operation of your device without any of your apps on there or any of your files on there. See how it functions in a fresh and clean state, first. Afterwards, you can load your backup on there, after you've confirmed everything works okay.
The first few links below are about backups, which you should do. Then the last one is about how to reset to its factory default state, using your iTunes program.
