Q: import contacts from android to ipad air iOS 8.1

Hi

I am new to apple community.  I bought an iPad Air.  I'm in from the Android community (Samsung S2).  I am trying to import my contacts from my phone to my iPad.  No success at that.  Can anyone help me, please?  I have tried a number of solutions on the Web, but to no avail.
