Q: HELP QUICK PLZ!! When I try to record with QuickTime my audio, there are weird beeps and echoes!

Hello.

I am a Youtuber and today I wanted to record a gameplay video with QuickTime, though something weird with the sound.

When I speak or if there is any other sound in the background, I can hear echoes and weird and irritating beeps. It only happens with QuickTime though, as I have tried my mic with Skype and some other programs like Audacity and all seemed fine. I have tried restarting but it still didn't help.

I thought of something that may have happened, but I do not think that is the problem: I have selected the microphone 'None' a few days ago because I did not want any sound, and today re-selected the built-in one (the only one i have).

UPDATE: I have found a temporary-fix: Turn your mic volume at around 20-40 and let QuickTime stay open for about 1-2 minutes.

UPDATE 2: Apparently, if you stop your turn the mac sound from 0-10 it shouldn't have any problem.

Tech info:

Late 2013 27" iMac running OS X 10.10 Yosemite

QuickTime 10.4 (883)

Built-in microphone

Not sure if the following info is going to help but I put it in here just in case:

3,2 Ghz Intel Core i5

16 GB RAM 1600 Mhz DDR3

NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M 1024 MB

1 TB memory

Thanks!!

Not sure what you are looking for here. This sounds like a normal feedback problem. There is always a potential for feedback problems when both speakers and mic are simultaneously active. As you indicated, adjusting either the speaker volume or the mic sensitivity would help to reduce the problem but not entirely eliminate if you are recoding both the system audio and voice annotations through the mic. The best solution would be to install software to channel your system audio directly to the screen recoding, adjust the speaker volume to zero, and then adjust the mic sensitivity to a desired level with reference to the system audio recording level.

go to lunchpad and open up the utilities folder/other and run audio midi setup app. under your headset make sure that you are set on the input tab , by default it will be. and select 44100 hz where it set to 48000.00 . this will get rid of the beeps though you may still hear weird static noises that can be reduced with some audio filter apps.

really hope that helps and yeah i know it was long time ago , but just figured it out 1 hour ago and thought you may still want to get your answer answered.

have a great day sir !
