Nov 3, 2014 10:42 PM in response to iKriticaby léonie,How do I make the Health app calculate steps/flights/sleep etc.?
Most of the data will only show, if you install additional apps, that will add the data, or you have to add data pints manually.
But steps should be counted automatically, if your iPhone has a motion sensor.
- Click the folder icon "Health data" at the bottom of the Health.app window.
- Click "Fitness", then "Steps"
- Enable "Show in Dashboard".
Do the same for "Fitness" > "Walking + Running" and "Fitness" > "Cycling Distance"
For "Cycling Distance" you can add data manually by clicking "Fitness" > "Walking + Running" and "Fitness" > Add Data Point.

My iOS version is 8.1. It's up to date.
This hasn't resolved the issue. -

My iPhone 5C does have a motion sensor. But the automatic steps counting still doesn't seem to be working. -

Then I don't know, sorry. I don't have a 5C model. On my iPhone 5Sit is working as described. Are you looking at the Dashboard in "Day" view? I first saw data in the Dashboard appear, after I switched to Day view.
Have any data been recorded at all?
- While viewing the Dashboard click the Day tab.
- Then tab the orange pane labelled "Steps".
- Tap "Share data"
- Scroll down until you are seeing the Data Sources. There should be two sources listed - Health and your iPhone.

Can you help me with that? -
Nov 4, 2014 2:05 AM in response to iKriticaby léonie,The updating problems are supposed to be fixed with iOS 8.0.2. That installed a new firmware.
Did you previously have a beta version of iOS 8 installed? If not, I'd back up your device to iTunes and try to restore the device to factory settings as a new device (Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support)
But I'd wait to got to this trouble, until somebody can confirm, that the Health app is actually working as advertised on an iPhone 5C.
