I can't find your other thread and I'm having the same problem with the Save As dialogue. Have you come up with anything?

Oct 25, 2014 2:08 PM in response to theveganasanaby GrantusM,Hi, Theveganasana,
I'm sorry to hear that you've been having the same problem. I've not had any responses yet but have had over 30 views. Hopefully, someone will address it soon. I had absolutely no luck with Microsoft, who now charge for support but do not seem to know about this problem or how to solve it. I am hoping Apple will step up to the plate. Please join the thread I started https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6617024 and hopefully we'll get some input. It's best if you state there that you have the same issue.
Thanks and good luck!
Great handle, by the way.

Oct 28, 2014 12:51 PM in response to M9100009by HishamItani,Hello
I have had the same issue
I have fixed it by downloading the office update
The Built-in updater has jammed for some users forcing them to restart office and having no effect of an update, so download the update using the link below:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=44329
P.S. The update only works for office version 2011
{Hope I helped}

Oct 29, 2014 1:09 PM in response to M9100009by Emzleberry,I've had exactly the same issues. Very annoying. Wish I'd not bothered with new operating system at all. Pointless destruction of very good Mac!

I am having precisely the same problem. I'm trying ALL of the above suggestions. If any of them work to solve the flickering problem, I'll let you know.

By using "list view" instead of "cover flow" in the save as menu, the flickering has vanished. While the problem still persists, at least this band-aid will allow us to keep working.

Nov 1, 2014 3:58 PM in response to M9100009by Douglasau,YES - I just upgraded to Yosemite and have had nothing but problems with WORD (and some others) - I have the latest version of Word. It will not put page numbers in the doc and crashes constantly. I went to the APPLE STORE and asked them to get me back to the previous operating system - NOPE. They spent 2 hours checking permissions etc etc etc. They also said "Hey just use "Pages" - right! a cracker jack of an idea except the capabilities pale in comparison to WORD. Came home - same problem. I have APPLE CARE - called and waited the obligatory half hour and spoke to someone who in time solved another problem I was having with my HP printer.
As for WORD - HELP!

Nov 4, 2014 2:24 AM in response to M9100009by Rem005,I'm unable to print in any Office 2011 programs, the app just instantly shuts down without any print dialogue window.
I did notice that if I remove my printer and try and print from an Office program it does then bring up the print dialogue window so I thought it was a printer driver issue but Yosemite prints in all other apps?
I have the latest Office updates installed - 14.4.5. and Yosemite 10.10

Nov 5, 2014 4:10 AM in response to M9100009by Michael1952,Had the same problem myself cost me a day messing about, eventually resolved by installing BOTH latest Word AND Office updates to Office 2011 14.4.5. Seems to be stable now.

Nov 5, 2014 7:28 AM in response to RasKeetby RedEggRyan,I had a similar problem where I couldn't see the x + - buttons to get out of full screen mode and each word document opened in a separate desktop when opening word after a crash. I had to click the 'Focus View' in word, and then 'exit' to get a window where I could see the x + - buttons to close the document without word crashing.
