Q: Deleted Lion (email) notes still appearing in Mountain Lion Spotlight search
Friends,
I have been deleting notes that had sensitive info in them (namely, all of my passwords) in Mountain Lion. The deleted notes no longer show in the Notes app in Mountain Lion. However, when I search Spotlight they are still there. I can click on the Spotlight link and it open the old notes in the Notes app (though in a smaller Notes window, and they do not appear in the Notes sidebar). When I try to delete them now (by clicking on the trashcan icon) it crashes Notes.
Is it possible there is some sort of archive or backup file on my hard drive that I don't know about but Spotlight does? Is there any way to completely delete these files from my hard drive? (The duplicate notes do not show up on my iDevices, thankfully, and my Mountain Lion drive is encrypted, so it isn't the end of the world - but I would like to permanently delete these errant notes nevertheless!)
Thanks for any wisdom you have to share.
