Nov 9, 2014 11:11 AM in response to UK Paul Bby Star Traveler,Many of the iPad 2 users are reporting good results from resetting the iPad to its factory default condition. It's also a troubleshooting methodology. Here's what has been working for a lot of iPad 2 users ...
Be sure to do your backups and look at the Apple Support articles so you know exactly what is saved and what is not saved. And then make adjustments for the items that are not saved. Next, make sure the iTunes program on your computer is up to date. Turn off the anti-virus software on your computer for this process. Then run the iTunes program to reset your iPad to its factory default condition. See the following link ...

Nov 9, 2014 11:14 AM in response to UK Paul Bby Star Traveler,Now, some people have problems crop back up again, after they restore from their backup. If that's the case, then go back to resetting it to factory default and this time do not restore your backup. Check it out without any of your data on there and no apps that you had before on there. You want to make sure it's running okay in that factory default state.
If it's not, then you need to contact Apple support, tell them you've set it up in its factory fresh condition (and tell them how you did it) and that none of your data or apps are on there. Then keep your trouble ticket number with Apple Support and keep following through with it as Apple Support helps you solve the problem.

Nov 9, 2014 1:13 PM in response to UK Paul Bby Star Traveler,If you want to wait for a few days, you could do the process just one time ... after the next revision comes out, like the other poster noted. You should definitely do the reset to factory default comdition, though ... even with iOS 8.1.1 so you will get a clean install of the system software.
