Oct 28, 2014 9:09 AM in response to cacriderby Werner P.,Apple will very unlikely issue a patch to yosemite, the reason for why so many drivers are failing is because Apple has raised the security from Relaxed to High in the printer area. From Apples POV this is very likely intentional and gives the users more security, the downside of this is many printer manufacturers have to adapt their drivers.

Oct 28, 2014 9:43 AM in response to Werner P.by JimmyCMPIT,well you've explained why it now takes 8 - 12 minutes for me to print a lo-res jpeg proof to my Xerox Phaser in this OS and why I have no reason to deploy it to the users I support who would be impacted for the foreseeable future. 2011 was the last time Xerox updated, I don't expect they are champing at the bit to fix it now.

Oct 28, 2014 10:42 AM in response to JimmyCMPITby Werner P.,Hi send a mail to my private address werner.punz@gmail.com, I know how to relax the CUPS sandbox restrictions. Apple simply has been pulling the info multiple times, so I do not dare to post it anymore.

Apr 28, 2015 5:33 PM in response to nxedwardsby sparkyparker,I constantly have this problem even with several different printers and especially after an Apple upgrade. Here's what generally works. Reboot printer and print as a PDF from Apple Print Preview. Today after two hours of trying to print a document and having no luck, I deleted my Canon MX870 from the list of printers in Settings, downloaded new drivers from the Canon website, rebooted the printer, rebooted the Time Machine and then added new printer in Settings (It took awhile for the Canon settings to show up). Yay, it is now working again. I don't understand why it is so difficult to get printers to play nice with a Mac!
