Nov 14, 2014 12:07 PM in response to ovelez25by onthechesapeake,@Okbart is right. If you're looking at this then please send Apple feedback!
Here's what I posted to http://www.apple.com/feedback
Blocking Unknown Callers
"Just one Apple Forum post on this issue generated over a million views. This is an aggravating limitation on iOS that is not an issue on Android. When there is no caller phone number, the "block caller" option is not available at the bottom of the info page. Even creating a contact for "Unknown" "Unknown Caller" or "No Caller ID" and then blocking that contact does not work. You will make millions of customers happy if you fix this! Thanks.

A million views? This thread has garnered less than 150, 000. Which one got a million?

Nov 14, 2014 3:59 PM in response to Meg St._Clairby onthechesapeake,My bad...was multi-tasking and read the number wrong.
However, just using 3 search terms ("block unknown" call, "block call" unknown, "unwanted call" block) yields posts with over 115,000 views.
Added to this post, that's over a quarter million views of dissatisfied customers.
I would argue that Apple would be well-served by categorizing feedback issues and allowing users to rate the categories or prioritize what's important to them. Though the forums are great, it's my opinion aggregated issues would hone in on problems more quickly.
Either way, was just adding my encouragement to forum users (who may not yet be familiar with the feedback procedure) to send their comments on to Apple.

Dec 2, 2014 8:07 AM in response to aftonandpaulby rick268,That's what I don't understand. The iPhone is a mini computer that can do amazing things, but for some reason APPLE doesn't give developers access to call blocking or there would already be several apps for that. Apple probably has some secret backdoor deals with the spammers who profit from telemarketing because they should have implemented this BASIC feature back in IOS 4 when people first started complaining.
THERE IS NO LEGITIMATE REASON that these spammers should be allowed to hide their numbers. If they want to want to spam us, unblock your number. WE HAVE THE RIGHT to know who's calling. I want to know why there's 100 call blocker apps for Android but not one single one for iPhone.

You have the right? Where in your country's constitution does it say you have the right to know who's calling you on the phone?
If you want a call block app then what you need to do is tell someone who can do something about about it. We can't. There's a Contact Us link at the bottom of the page. Please use it.

No, it's a quarter of a million views. Many of them may be by the same customer multiple times (me, for example). Many may be by people who are not dissatisfied (me, for example). There is no way to determine anything except that the thread has been viewed that many times.
I would argue that Apple would be well-served by categorizing feedback issues and allowing users to rate the categories or prioritize what's important to them. Though the forums are great, it's my opinion aggregated issues would hone in on problems more quickly.
As you already appear to know, Apple offers a dedicated feedback site:
https://www.apple.com/feedback
Apple, historically, is not big on the whole focus group concept. Jobs tended to have a vision and then tell people why it was better than what they thought they wanted.

Dec 3, 2014 6:58 AM in response to Stavrocheby Meg St._Clair,I'm sorry. Was there a point in this screed that I'm supposed to be addressing? I'm assuming there must be since you chose to respond to me.

As has been noted repeatedly in this thread, you can't.

No, really it doesn't. You still get the call. You still have to decline it. And, the most basic service costs $4 a month. I can do, essentially, the same thing with Google Voice for free. If I decline a call, it goes to my GV voicemail. I can put people on GV's blocked list. Plus, I get voicemail transcription for free.

Dec 12, 2014 8:15 AM in response to Meg St._Clairby waynog,Go to settings:
turn "do not disturb" on Manual
Allow calls from your contacts list
do not allow repeated to calls within 3 mins to get through. and Voilla! it's done. Now only people on your contacts list can get through - the caller gets sent to a telephonic abyss without voicemail!
oh and you get a "missed call" show up BUT YOUR PHONE WILL NOT RING NOR ALLOW UNKNOWN NUMBERS

Jan 1, 2015 2:37 AM in response to ovelez25by Jorgen_E ,When I had IP-telephone until last year, I had a few options controlling my accont online, and one was the abillity not to accept calls from people who would not identify by any number. When people who do that, it's most likely a person You are very well without ........
Callers were met with a message from my ISP, that I did'n accept calls from unknown dialers, and the call never reached my phone at home. I enjoyed it and calls from people trying to sell all kind of stuff or ask stupid questions stopped
It's just a matter of WILL implementing it and should be done on central before the call even reach your phone.
My ISP was Telenor Denmark
