If the computer originally shipped with Mac OS X 10.6.8 or earlier, when you reach step 5, insert its original disk, restart with the C key held down, use the Disk Utility to erase the internal drive, and install a fresh OS.

Nov 16, 2014 5:52 PM in response to Nielby a brody,★HelpfulOption key booting may be necessary for some Macs when C key doesn't work. Also this has nothing to do with Classic operating systems. 10.7.5 is not one. No Mac operating system with 10 in the name is a Classic operating system.
