Q: Getting ads on iTunes Radio even with iTunes Match

Ever since updating to iTunes 12 on my work computer, I have been getting ads on iTunes Radio even though I have iTunes Match. Is there a way to fix this? Surely it's a simple fix, I read somewhere that you have to retoggle a setting but I am not sure if that's true.

Thanks

I also tried to create a brand new station from iTunes on my PC to see if maybe it was an issue related to the stations that I created and managed from my iPhone.  The new station that I created also plays periodic ads.  I have ensured that iTunes Match is enabled on my PC, Limit ad tracking is enabled and I have restarted iTunes multiple times.  I do feel like Apple is not delivering the services entitled by the paid match subscribers.

I may have found a solution to this issue. Let me know if it works for you all.

In iTunes on the PC that Match isn't working, go to "Account Info" for your iTunes account. Scroll down to "iTunes in the Cloud". Make sure that you sync your iCloud account with the PC you are on. Should be the bottom option.

Let me know if that fixes it for you all.

Yeah, I've tried everything, including letting my account expire and pay for another year. Nothing fixes it.

I couldn't find the options you were talking about. Did you mean deauthorizing devices? Because all that's under "iTunes in the cloud" is "manage devices", hidden purchases and match which lets you turn on/off auto renew.

I think I figured it out. The last thing I did before the ads seemed to stop was "deauthorize all" then reauthorize just this computer, then restart itunes. I only had 2 computers authorized, this one and this one from the last time I reinstalled Windows 7. I've been listening for a few hours and skipping a bunch of songs and haven't heard an ad yet.

Again, the button I found was in "account info" and it said "deauthorize all", after that I reauthorized this computer and restarted itunes. I haven't hear an ad since. Your milage may vary.

Running Windows 8.1  Running the lates version of iTunes, loaded last week.  I have iTunes match.  Ads, ads.  No ads on my IOS devices, just my desktop!  This is a iTunes 12 problem!.  No fix as far as I know!

Same problem as everyone else (Windows-iTunes 12 specific problem) and also frustrated with the lack of an acknowledgement by Apple that they have a problem.

This is so infuriating. I only paid for iTunes match to be able to listen to the radio without ads. And now I'm getting ads. As everyone else here has noted, it likely began with iTunes 12.0. I'm using Windows 7.

Why are you not doing anything about this, friends at Apple? Are you reading these forums? Do you realize or care that you're taking money and not providing the service promised?

I've been listening off and on for the last week or so and haven't heard an ad since my last post. Hopefully it works out for the rest of you!

I'm getting ads as well. On my iPhone and on iTunes. I submitted a support ticket after reading this thread and will reply again when I get a response. I've tried the deauthorize/authorize trick without success. I've also managed my devices to make sure my iPhone and PC are listed. Sounds like this is fairly widespread.

The problem has still not been solved.

My iTunes Match subscription even auto-renewed last week.

Still ads when using iTunes Radio on a Windows 7 pc.

    Really annoying.

I submitted a message to Apple Support, and this is the response that I received....Of course, it did not work as I had already tried this step several times.

"Thank you for contacting iTunes Store Support. I am Rey, your iTunes Store Advisor. I’d be happy to assist you in the best way I can. It is clear to me that you liked iTunes Match, I understand, however, that you are experiencing errors with it. No worries i will do my best to help you on this issue.

iTunes Match is a subscription service that gives you all the benefits of iTunes in the Cloud for music you haven’t purchased from iTunes. It lets you store your entire collection, including music you imported from CDs or purchased somewhere other than iTunes for an annual fee.

iTunes determines which songs in your collection are available in the iTunes Store. Any music with a match is automatically added to your iCloud library for you to listen to anytime, on any device. All the music iTunes matches plays back at 256-Kbps iTunes Plus quality—even if your original copy was of lower quality.

You can usually resolve most issues with iTunes Match by turning the service off and back on. Follow these steps for your operating system:

    • Mac OS X: hold down the Option key and choose Store > Turn Off iTunes Match. Then, go back to the same menu and choose Turn On iTunes Match.
    • Windows: hold down the Shift key and choose Store > Turn Off iTunes Match. Then, go back to the same menu and choose Turn On iTunes Match.
    • iOS device: tap Settings > Music > iTunes Match Off. Then, tap iTunes Match On.

I'm having the same issue with hearing ads, but when I log in and view my Account Info and scroll down to iTunes in the Cloud I don't see any option to sync my PC with iCloud. I only have two items there: Manage Devices and Turn Off Auto-Renew (for iTunes Match). Where do I go to find the option to sync with iCloud?
