    Depends on what iOS version you are coming from.   If you are at iOS 8 it should be less than 100MB.

     

    Otherwise it will vary depending on where you start from.

     

    Also, I will request this post be relocated to the Using iPad area, as it has nothing to to with iBooks Author (The section it was posted in).

    mmy ipad2 is 3 years age , and my battery is not getting charged easily and normally , it shows 32 % suddenly when plug I it shows 68 % , and when comes down to 38 % suddenly it switch offs . When plug in it shows 38% .

    From 7 to 8 it will quite a bit more. Major updates are larger. I believe ti was around 700MB to download, and around 3GB for decompression and file installation which then get reduced to may 200 or 300MB at the end.

     

     

    As to your battery issue, it would seem you have a calibration issue with the battery meter.  Charge the battery until it reaches 100%. Then run it down as much as you can until it turns off. Then fully charge it again.  Hopefully this will re-calibrate the battery meter.
