Nov 10, 2014 2:25 AM in response to rotoby LostinME,I just think the fix must come from Apple. I've have been noticing a lot of problems with Yosemite:
1) Airplay is choppy
2) Connection errors to the time capsule
3) Slow machine start
4) Slowness in PDF
5) Preview seems to get hold of my discrete GPU and I need to force quit it...
ANNOYING!

Nov 16, 2014 11:21 AM in response to LostinMEby vingnote,I confirm having the same problem. PDF reading is supposed to be super fast in OS X because of Quartz, why is it behaving the other way around?

Nov 16, 2014 2:12 PM in response to vingnoteby LostinME,Tired of all this ****.... Mac OSX is supposed to be tried because it's made for a limited hardware. Now...
PDF! The universal document format is not working properly since Yosemite... well I remember having troubles before too but they were solved by using Preview instead of Adobe Reader.
I'm also about to sell my Apple TV because it go unusable after installing Yosemite. Trying the beta 10.10.1 and it's the same.. if it's sunny it works.. God knows.
TIRED!

Nov 22, 2014 9:05 PM in response to LostinMEby eiyu,I tried re-exporting the PDF file from Preview into a PDF format again, and when I opened the new file, it seems to be more responsive. The lag is still there but not as horrible as the original file.

Dec 3, 2014 12:18 PM in response to LostinMEby Lovelovesus2,What happens is that when I open a PDF with preview, I can view the first pages but then, at page 3 or 4, Preview freezes for a few seconds: could it be that Spotlight is processing the file ?

Dec 12, 2014 1:07 PM in response to LostinMEby Toranaga-Sama,Same to me on a 2010 MBP 13'. There are various reports about the new preview.app, as it seems to be by far less smart than its precursor.
The reports include poor resolution of pdfs, slow response to commands and, which is my nightmare, the removal of the yellow auto-adjustment bars for text fields, arrows etc.
My solution: Use preview.app version 7 (current is 8). You can get this by copy&pasting it from a backup of Mavericks or earlier versions out of the applications folder. It will not be possible to replace the app in the applications folder of Yosemite, but it can be put into documents or elsewhere, the two versions can co-exist without problems in my experience.
If you do not have a backup to use, there are several versions available for downloading within the community, just search around. I would upload my old one, but I guess a german version will not help. If you need it though, let me know.
Hope that helps you!
Greetings;

Dec 12, 2014 1:25 PM in response to Toranaga-Samaby Toranaga-Sama,Here my old version, try if it works.
It is the german one. I dont know if it automatically takes over the language of the new host system or if it works on other than my system at all, but you can try to use that one.
Hope that helps you!
