Oct 29, 2014 5:07 PM in response to jaygee85by jdlumagbas,I am having the same issue too. I just noticed it today when I imported photos from my iPhone6. I don't think I had this issue the last time I connected my phone to iPhoto. Some people are attributing the problem to iCloud Photo Library (beta) running on their iPhone/iPad. But I am not using the feature.

Nov 9, 2014 9:19 AM in response to jdlumagbasby Neil McGillivray,I'm experiencing the same problem - on the iPad/iPhone, pictures are as they should be - however iPhoto shows duplicates/doubles.
When I then import the pictures, I end up with doubles, named _2. This is only on iOS 8

Nov 9, 2014 11:20 AM in response to jaygee85by mikeee7432,I have been experiencing this myself. I have found that a hard reboot of the phone will allow the duplicates to disappear for that one time. So next time you want to import photos, reboot ur device and try syncing. Should temporarily fix the issue until apple can fix long term
