Sep 8, 2013 9:53 PM in response to Phillip Gutierrezby 8ANOMALY8,I had this same issue and was getting frustrated. I am running windows vista and I resolved this issue by going to
- Start
- Control Panel
- Programs and Features
- then in the list find "Apple Mobile Device Support"
Click once to highlight it and then click "Repair"
restarted iTunes and I was good to go to sync backup restore, whatever you need to do.
so far I have had no reoccurring issues.

Oct 8, 2013 4:16 AM in response to meggle628by PatNY,meggle628 -- when you click on that exe, a typical app window won't open. It will just start the Apple Mobile Device Service, which should now be showing up in Task Manager (Windows).
Just go through the entire sequence as outlined on page 1 of this thread. I've never not had this fix work for me.
Maybe you've already discovered this for yourself. Do you have it working now?

Apr 23, 2014 2:56 AM in response to Phillip Gutierrezby Xenus98,None of your tips worked for me but I have found another solution, may be it will help some of you !
Hi,
I've found a solution that worked for my iphone 4s on Windows 8.1. I've got such problem since I changed to a new MSI GE70-2PE048FR Apache Pro mobile computer. Its appear that is has brand new USB 2.0 and 3.0 interface and they are not so compatible with the iphone 4s i guess...
So what worked for me was to plug an old USB 2.0 Hub to one of my USB port from the computer and then pluged the iphone 4s in that hub, and dont know why but worked perfectly !!!!
Hope it will help you all !!!
