Q: IPHONE 6 Fast Battery Drain Ios 8.1.1

Dear All,

I bought an iphone 6 few days ago with full pride thinking that just because i have an iphone 6, I'm not going to face anymore problems, but i was wrong.

At first i was using ios 8.0.2 and I was experiencing fast battery drains; my total usage time was surprisingly less than 7 hours. I thought to myself the problem is from the software; after updating to ios 8.1.1, the same problem still exists; having very fast battery drains.

Please inform if this is a software or hardware issue and what are the solutions to this.

Hey there,
I have similar issue with the new update although it was fine with the previous version of the iOS , seems new ios 8.1.1 is eating our battery

Try "Reset All Settings".
My battery life went from having to charge every 6 hours to going on for a full day+.
Try it, it won't hurt.

Stay clear of the 8.1.1 update , always read reviews first , there is no good coming out of this update ie was meant to fix battery drain , but instead it drains even faster , the wifi connection is still not working fully even after this last update ,

I read the reviews, I am a computer tech so would always do that before all new software. However despite them saying it improved battery like all the others my is not lasting a full day and that it with unnecessary things shut down and minimal calls. My iPhone 5 is lasting 3 times a s long as my new 6!!! Apple strike again!!

What fixed the issue for me was that I turned off the device for a few minutes and then turned it back on.

Hi, does anyone noticed if there has been excessive overheating?

Also, it looks like there is a software issue: the Home & Lock Screen seems to be draining way too much juice - mine is at almost 70%.

Please check your phones and let me know if you are observing the heat and the home screen issue.

Yes, I experienced overheating using the phone and extreme overheating when charging. Turning the phone off and on again fixed the issue for me.

Hey I had the same issue as you guys but I did what wono suggested and BAM my battery is back to normal...**** it's better than it was before I updated to 8.1.1. Just try resetting all your settings, you will see the difference.

Has anyone tried completely restoring your device via connecting it in iTunes? I can't remember where I read someone solve this issue that way.
