Q: I don't like the default text font in iDVD

Everytime I wish to add some text to iDVD it always comes up with the front called BlairMdITC TT which I do not like.   I've tried all the ways that I know to stop this particular font from appearing all the time - I even deleted it entirely from the font book, but it still keeps on coming up as the default font.

Can anyone please tell me how I can stop this and make a  font of my choice to be the default font for iDVD.

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

Which theme are you using?  Each theme has a different font as the default. There's no way to change the default font for a theme.

Thank you for your reply, which has answered my question - that I can't change the default font (I was using an old 4x3 Theme called 'Brushed Metal').  Seems that I'll just have to try other themes or scroll down to my favourites.

What you can do is to create a project with that particular theme.  Then go thru and change the font to what you would like as the default font.  Create a secondary menu, and any other item you'll like, i.e. slideshow, etc. and change the font for those items to your preferred font.

Save the project and when you want to create a new project duplicate the project file, rename it and open.  It will have the font you want.

Sorry to come back to you after such a long time, but I obviously misunderstand your instructions because I'm still getting that awful default font.  I'm creating a project with my preferred font, saving it and quitting iDVD but, when I re-open iDVD with a new project, it still opens with the default font.

I think that what I'm misunderstanding is the part about creating a 'secondary menu' because I'm simply creating a new project which has the same problem.  Where exactly is the secondary menu for me to save with my preferred font?

    Thanks, makey.

By secondary menu I mean this:

I'm able to set up a new project, set different fonts for different menus and items, save, reopen and still have those fonts.  Try with a new project..

It's not worked.  Here's some shots of what I've done:-

As you see, they seem OK until I opened a NEW project and it's gone back to the font I don't like.

I'm not saying you can set the font in one project to be the default font in all new projects with that theme.  I thought you were saying that when you closed and reopened a project the fonts reverted back to the default for that theme.

There's no way we can set a font as the default for all projects.  Each project has to be set individually.
