I know the s-ware updater probably did already, but I had the same issue, problems after the update, then I powered down my iPhone, powered it back up, and all features were back to normal for the most part, at least as much as to be expected with this release so far.

for example i can copy/paste from 'notes' app and email with NO problems.

Nov 22, 2014 5:45 PM in response to Brunnianby TonyLima,I updated to 8.1.1 today and noticed that this update specifically addresses unnamed bugs affecting the iPad 2 and iPhone 4s. I haven't tested it extensively on my iPad 2, but so far my limited results are encouraging.
FWIW my letter to Tim Cook got a callback, a long chat with tech support, and another callback in which I expressed my displeasure with the tech support call. But I suspect Mr. Cook has removed me from his Christmas list.
