Q: Iphone 5 can't connect to wifi at all

My iphone 5 can't connect to wifi even after entering the right password. The thing is it keeps displaying incorrect password for every different wifi I tried to enter. Reset network settings doesn't work, neither is reset all setting. Anyone has this problem?

I had the exact same problem and solved it by turning OFF my WPA2 security and then I was finally able to connect to WIFI. And then I turned the security on again, everything worked fine.

i was on a work event and no matter what i did i could not connect my ipad to wireless, but mac did fine

    the fix:

    1) double click the home button

    2) that will show you every app that is running

    3) if you have never double tapped the home button before every app on your phone will be running and sucking resources

    4) close all the apps (ios7= swipe them up, ios 6= click and hold the apps that have appeared across the bottom, click the "-" to close them) again if you have never done it before, there will be a million of them

    5) just to be thorough, restart

    6) try to connect again, it was the silver bullet in my instance

also ios devices seem to "hate" 5.6 ghz routers but play nicer with 2.4ghz, i concur that wpa is a bit friendlier than wpa2

Don't worry. All you need to do is this

    Go to settings

    Click on wifi

Click on your internet connection that you are connected to but is not working (eg internet657)

More options will come up so all u do is that you scroll down until you see DSN

    Change DSN to 8.8.4.4

If this doesn't work then change it to 8.8.8.8.

      hope it helps

Thank you. After trying many solutions, this simple act was the one. I removed the BookBook cover and wifi is finally, really finally, working.

Which one worked? Does the changed DSN apply to Verizon I phone 5 (if that's the one that worked)?

    WHich fix works??

I've had this issue on my iPhone 5 since I got my Bluetooth working that wouldn't connect in the past. Now about my Bluetooth works, my Wi-Fi still gives incorrect password no matter what I do. Changing the router names, settings, passwords, I've tried everything, and it says incorrect password instantly. What else can I try?. I can't be the only one with this issue.

Was having the same problem w/ my iPhone 5 for several weeks.  Restarted both phone (just powered off) and router and now connected just fine.  Often forget the old windows adage of "just restart!".  We will go months without shutting down our macs or phones, but agree its smart to do once a month.

    Hi All,

It may the common issue for all iPhones.

I got two iphones (4s and 6Plus) and one ipod touch 2.

When i sit in car and road site parking, i turn on iPhone 6's personal hotspot. My iphone 4s without SIM and itouch 2 can connect to hotspot and access internet without any issue.

The issue is when i go to offsite, my itouch still can access hotspot, BUT iphone 4s does not.

I open the wifi option from iphone 4s, i can see the my hotspot is jump over between the wifi list and connected list.

it has 4 different case after mins:

    1. can not connect to hotspot, and stop jumpping

    2. connected, but can not get the DNS and domain, it only get the incorrect ip address.

    3. ask you to enter password, even i am sure i enter the correct password, it still ask u to enter again.

    4. it connected few sec to few mins, then dropped out.

This issue only for iphone, i tried my colleagues' iphone 4, iphone 5, iphone 5s and iphone 6...all have the same issue in offsite.

I tried to reset my network setup and reset to factory for iphone 4s, i tried to connect the different usb wifi router in offsite.

offsite also has company wifi with VPN setup.

It can not solve the issue. itouch 1 and itouch 2 work fine in office.

When i go out office, my iphone 4s can access to iphone 6's hotspot with just turn the wifi off and on.

    Thanks,

Thanks, this worked perfect for me when my 5c indicated by all measures and on two established systems that it was hooked up to wifi but continued to reject the connection on a functional level. I was wondering how to reboot my cell short of letting the battery run dead.
