Nov 25, 2014 2:47 PM in response to LawrenceCooperby jwboehlke,★HelpfulI found and fixed the issue.
There were two versions of iCloud installed on my PC. One 32 bit and one 64 bit version. Must have happened during a prior update attempt. Anyway, I used Revo Uninstaller Pro to clean out both versions and then downloaded the iCloud 4.0.1 version and installed. Everything works fine now.

Dec 1, 2014 1:07 PM in response to LawrenceCooperby Tonkagwd,I found the Solution of iCloud 4.0.1 not installing correctly. You must go into Program Files/Common Files/Apple/Internet Services and delete the files that are in this folder. Don't worry there will be 2 files that won't delete. Install iCloud again and you shouldn't have any problems installing it now.

Dec 30, 2014 8:31 PM in response to LawrenceCooperby McCTom,When trying to install iCloud for Windows in Windows v8.1 64 bit I get the error:
"The installer encountered errors before iCloud Control panel could be configured. Your system has not been modified. To try these operations at a later time, please run the installer again"
I have disable the Anti Virus, removed other Apple apps, re booted the system and have tried the installer several time from several sources. THEY ALL FAIL.
Excerpt from Event Viewer;
Product: iCloud -- Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action RuniCloudUpgrade, location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Internet Services\, command: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Internet Services\iCloud.exe /upgrade

Jun 18, 2015 7:03 PM in response to Tonkagwdby Pixeloid63,Thanks Tonkagwd. I'd tried re-naming the iCloud.exe in that folder suspecting it was a 32bit program issue, but no go. Deleting all of the files (didn't have the two that wouldn't delete issue) then re-installing (using the latest version - i.e. 64bit) worked.

Aug 15, 2015 12:40 PM in response to Tonkagwdby ricelt3,Eureka!
The "Tonkagwd" fix below worked except – I had to also go into Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Apple/Internet Services and delete all the files in this folder. They all deleted. I installed iCloud again and it did install. There were several restarts required and I was also then prompted to repair the installation before it would work. Go to Control Panel/Programs and Features. Select iCloud and click on Change and select Repair.
Thanks Tonkagwd!
