Sep 28, 2014 5:22 PM in response to lorifromflaby ssschmidt,★HelpfulSettings, Face Time, iPhone Cellular calls to Off on their phones. You should also consider getting them their own appleID's for iCloud before they erase your contacts.

Oct 16, 2014 11:09 AM in response to ssschmidtby RitterB,★HelpfulI have this same issue between my iPhones (5S and 5C), but they are legitimate phones with their own numbers, so ssschmidt's reply doesn't help with that.

Oct 17, 2014 6:58 AM in response to lorifromflaby Cowes33,Hi Lorifromla and ssschmidt
I have the same problem, 2 x iPhone 5 with their own vodafone numbers and apple ids. However for a long time we have used my appleid (iCloud) on all devices so we have shared calendar and contacts. We have separate email accounts. This has worked fine up until now.
Since upgrade to IOS8 they now both ring simultaneously when either is dialled.
I will try the FaceTime suggestion but if anyone else either experiences this problem or has a fix it would be welcome.

Oct 17, 2014 7:12 AM in response to RitterBby RitterB,★HelpfulI think I finally found the solution: Settings -> General -> Handoff & Suggested Apps, then turn off Handoff.
Apple should have made it default to off (and certainly explained Handoff better).

Nov 26, 2014 4:56 PM in response to Sanna Gby BZer,I have a question for everyone. When does this happen? Is everyone in the same house, or the same location? OK...guess that was two questions. Might as well make it a couple more..... Did this same issue occur to anyone before the iOS 8.x.x update, or moving to a new iOS device?
I have friends that this is happening to and I've looked everywhere posted above, but the only time that this occurs is when they are in the same house. If I call person A while person B is in a different geographical location on caller A's phone will ring. They are also on the same wireless carrier.

Nov 26, 2014 9:50 PM in response to BZerby stevejobsfan0123,It happens across devices using the same Apple ID, it is not location based (though the devices also have to be in close proximity for it to work).
It did not happen before the iOS 8 update because it is a new feature introduced in iOS 8: https://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/continuity/.

Nov 27, 2014 2:47 AM in response to stevejobsfan0123by BZer,I understand the continuity feature in iOS 8.....the problem is one of the devices is still on iOS 7

Nov 27, 2014 8:59 AM in response to BZerby stevejobsfan0123,Then the caller probably placed a FaceTime Audio call, not a regular phone call.
Are you positive the device in question is running iOS 7? Settings > General > About > Version.

Nov 28, 2014 3:15 PM in response to lorifromflaby mtacconelli,★HelpfulI had the same problem with my kids phone, since we are using the same AppleID for iCloud on both devices. You can change AppleID on each phone to eliminate this problem. Or...
Go to Settings > FaceTime, Turn off the iPhone Cellular Calls option.
This allows all other app functions to work on each person's phone (i.e. FaceTime, Handoff, etc.).
Hope this helps others.

Dec 30, 2014 4:24 PM in response to lorifromflaby Valley1,I Just gave my daughter her own Apple ID but I manage the password and account. That way there's no possibility of altering data on each device.
