Dec 2, 2014 12:40 PM in response to jamieclarkeby davidzlee,Has there been any update to this issue?
-
Dec 2, 2014 2:00 PM in response to davidzleeby BPedret,Just thought I'd chime in and say that I too am experiencing lag issues with my brand new powerbeats 2 on my iphone 6. What the ****? I thought Apple bought beats? Where's the QA? Disappointed.

Dec 3, 2014 8:08 AM in response to jamieclarkeby clifton_icloud,I have had an official response from Beats. All I can say is very disappointing!

Dec 3, 2014 8:16 AM in response to clifton_icloudby dataangel,Absolutely unacceptable customer service. Simple solution - return the PowerBeats2 immediately and buy a pair of Jaybird Bluebuds X. Never buy a Beats product again unless they get their customer service in order.

Dec 3, 2014 8:22 AM in response to dataangelby clifton_icloud,Absolutely, I have replied and said as much to them. Typically, as they took so long to respond I have now fallen outside of the normal 30 day returns policy so I now have to write in and hope that I get a sympathetic customer services agent.
My response to them is below:
"If the Powerbeats 2 were specially design and ideally limited to music then that should be made clear on the sales description or marketing of the product and made clear to potential buyers that they are not compatible for watching video. Do you really expect users to wear the Powerbeats 2 whilst listening to music and then for out an additional £200 for an extra pair of earphones or headphones to then watch music videos or films?
I don’t know where you go to the gym but where I go it is very common to watch music videos during my workout and the issue with these earphones mean that they are not fit for purpose. My Apple devices are up to date with the latest firmware and software and I have regularly checked to see if there are any updates and as of 1 minute ago I have checked using the beats updater and firmware 1.0.0 is the latest version.
I therefore have no choice but to pursue a refund of these under the Sale of Goods Act as you seem to have distanced yourself from the issue which is a shame as there is a huge number of people discussing this issue on the Apple forum and I will be posting this response on there for the community and to encourage them to return their goods also.
I will certainly never be purchasing any beats products again as this is absolutely disgraceful."

Dec 3, 2014 8:35 AM in response to clifton_icloudby BPedret,Wow! That is a pathetic excuse. I completely agree, if I had known prior to receiving these powerbeats 2 that they would have video lag issues, I would not have gotten them. I can't return them because I basically traded my old phone for them. What a joke.

Dec 3, 2014 1:24 PM in response to BPedretby Thefaultinmyphone,Bought a pair of Powerbeats 2 wireless last month and encountered the same issue with my iPhone 6 Plus.
Got in touch with Beats support and Apple support today as the troubleshooting solutions on both websites proved inefficient.
So I called the French Beats customer services and when the guy on the phone asked me which earphones I had, I heard him saying ooooh in a low voice. Clearly it was not the first call concerning this item.
He left me hanging for a solid 5 minutes and then came back to try to convince me that this was normal with Bluetooth. When I told him that this problem did not occur with other phones (Galaxy S4) and there was no audio/video lag between my iPhone 6 Plus and other bluetooth devices (a 6 or 7 year old Parrot loudspeaker) he replied that the Powerbeats 2 wireless were not designed for video watching. I said this was unacceptable considering the hefty price and he announced that there was nothing he could do. All in all, he was very nice but didn't help one bit and couldn't tell me if a firmware update was in the works.
Then I called the French Apple support and I was pleased to find an understanding and caring person on the phone and together we went through all the solutions that I had already tried but to no avail. He concluded that there was a compatibility problem between iOS and this headset and that he would relay this to TPTB.
When I complained I had spent almost 1200€ ($1470!) for a phone, a leather case, a tempered glass cover and a pair of wireless headphones and that the overall user experience was, to say the least, very disappointing from a brand that claimed in its last keynote : "it just works", he informed me that for Christmas, all purchases made on the Apple Store in November and December were refundable until the 8th of January (in France but maybe not in 'Murica) and that I should wait until this date to see if a fix via an iOS update or beats firmware is to be issued.
That's what I'll do. Come on Apple, need I remind you that you've bought Beats for 3 frickin billions, you can probably afford a few more bucks and get this sorted out. This is nothing but bad PR.
Fix it or take it back. Simple as that.

Dec 5, 2014 9:39 AM in response to beniospitby Joredhead,So is the ultimate solution, no solution at all? Just return the Powerbeats 2?? I am not happy!
-
Dec 5, 2014 2:25 PM in response to beniospitby clifton_icloud,Only if beats release a firmware update or an iOS update fixes the issue as its fine with other bluetooth devices i have

Dec 5, 2014 2:25 PM in response to Joredheadby clifton_icloud,Pretty much! Unless you are within your refund period

Dec 6, 2014 2:02 PM in response to beniospitby CauseICan,iI'm having issues with the audio delay watching video anywhere. YouTube, iTunes html5, flash.
IPhone 6 plus audio lags
MBP retina 2013 audio lags
bboth devices have latest OS's installed. iOS 8.1.1 and Yosemite 10.10.
BTW Dr. Dre the Beats Updater has good intentions except there is no firmware update for the Powerbeats2. I'm still on v1.0.0. LOL. Apple you're starting to act a lot like Microsoft. Getting to big to ensure quality. Which means you will likey get beat by another company as people will lose interest in your brand again.

Dec 6, 2014 2:54 PM in response to CauseICanby clifton_icloud,@CauseICan you should be able to resolve the MBP issues. It is a pain that it doesn't 'just work' as certain famous commercials used to imply but if you turn off Bluetooth and reconnect or perhaps even pausing the video, restarting iTunes or your web browser, one of those will normally solve it. I get the odd issue now and again but generally my MBP is ok, it's just my iPad Air that looks like some dodgy rip off of a subtitled Japanese martial arts film for everything I watch.
i Don't think disappointed comes to mind anymore, it's put me off buying an iphone6 plus this weekend, and I'm tempted to look at the new Moto phone. I've been an apple fan for over 20 years and having a little SE30 as a boy and it really pains me to say that there's a lack of innovation I can see coming through back to when Apples demise began before Steve Jobs returned, GRHS, the iPhone has been nothing but evolutionary in the last 4 iterations back to when the original iphone had bezeled edges, and now inventing a watch which prices most people out of the market. What's next, a 4k, touch screen, retina pro, 80 inch TV with in built apps, xbox like motion control and virtual reality headsets? Come on apple, you need to cut out the infected bits and rebuild to improve, or customers will just leave. The days of queues outside stores for product launches could be numbered.

Dec 12, 2014 12:29 AM in response to clifton_icloudby losdelrock,Hello, I too have issues with Apples implementation of the Bluetooth protocol.
Coming from the promiscuous, but working, Windows platforms, I am used to no issues.
However, my Beats 2 wireless and my Macbook pro are just not working as they should.
Forget about audio sync, I am now sitting typing this listening to Pink Floyd's "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" and the audio is breaking up less than 15cm away from the Mac.
The Bluetooth range from the Macbook is appalling. I can hook the Beats 2 up to my Samsung S4 over Bluetooth and I can listen to the audio from my next door neighbours house when I visit.
I am convinced it is the chipset being used for Bluetooth and Wifi by Apple.
I am also having issues with Wifi and SMB shares:
Strange problem when copying files to NAS
When I buy a Rolls Royce, I expect a Rolls Royce.
Adrian.
