Sep 21, 2014 7:53 AM in response to Sicilianby h mfromwinchester,I am having problem with my PC. I can't install iCloud for Windows even though I am prompted to update.
I keep getting this message ""Errors occurred while installing the updates. If the problem persists, choose Tools> Download Only and try installing manually."
This is frustrating. I even chose Tools and followed the message and still, I can't update and the error message keeps coming out!
Is Apple looking into this bug at all? It seems that the new IOS8 is causing this problem to Windows PCs.

Sep 21, 2014 8:38 AM in response to Sicilianby aranaedo,No. I've uninstalled previous version of icloud and tried fresh install of the new one and it doesn't work either.
I Guess we'll have to wait. Very disappointing issue.

Sep 21, 2014 10:31 AM in response to Sicilianby BigMarsh,Having the same problem. Error message essentially says install cannot be completed, please contact vendor, or something like that. Have tried "download only", downloading via message that new version is available, nothing works. Have Windows 7 with the most current updated version.

Oct 17, 2014 1:16 PM in response to frank mackby Calexico92231,NO Apple does not care about it's customers/users so they don't read these forums often, their only concern is for themselves and the company.

Oct 17, 2014 6:46 PM in response to Sicilianby ilb3,Will try the link that someone from Apple finally sent and report back. Here's the error message I get:
Since this is an Apple-operated forum (had to use my Apple ID and P/W to get here), I am officially "contacting my package vendor:" Apple. Please fix this for thousands of us right away. I watched your very slick and polished roll out of Yosemite, etc yesterday and was distressed at the comments from the head shed about being able to accomplish the PC connectivity via our expensive iDevices and iCloud Drive. So far, it doesn't work. As an owner of many hundreds of hundreds of dollars of your products in our household, you need to service the rest of your worldwide clientele that are trying to get iCloud Drive on their PC's to install. The favor of an Apple Representative reply to solve this problem is formally requested in accordance with the terms of the error message that I have posted. Yes, I have watched the South Park episode. It's your turn...

Update: just ran the link that is in the posting above from Apple to Sicilian. It's still the same file that's been out there since mid-September THAT WILL NOT INSTALL!!

Oct 22, 2014 2:23 PM in response to ilb3by wiztax,I received an auto-prompt today from Apple to install five items on a PC running Windows 8.1:
*AppleApplicationSupport
*AppleMobileDeviceSupport64
*iCloud64
*iTunes64
*QuickTime
They all worked EXCEPT iCloud64.
They have a problem that no one in the company appears to know how to fix, and prompting people to use an installer that doesn't work makes them look bad.

Dec 3, 2014 12:53 PM in response to Sicilianby appleguydm,SAME ISSUE AS EVERYONE ELSE!
Seems this is a bug that they are just not fixing. I downloaded iCloudSetup.exe (v4.0.5.20) on my band-new Lenovo Yoga 3 laptop running 64-bit Windows v8.1 and KEEP GETTING THE ERROR:
There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.
APPLE -- will you address this bug? Or has anyone had success/found out how to get iCloud for PC installed on a fresh install of 64-bit Windows 8.1?
I tried everything I could, from fresh restarts with updates, going through Apple Software Update, etc with no success. When was the last time the iCloudSetup.exe file was updated? Does Apple have any formal plans of fixing this bug?
