Q: keychain login problems after installing Yosemite

Upgraded MacBook Pro to Yosemite and ever since I get repeated keychain prompts, even after entering my keychain password.  I have not changed my password, so I need to know how to make this stop.  Any help is appreciated!

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Hi thanks for the reply.  I had seen that article in KB already, but it doesn't seem to apply.  I have not changed my password since I bought the machine, 4 years ago.  Something has changed just since I installed Yosemite yesterday.  The prompts are coming from "calendar agent" and something like address book agent (although that is not the exact name.)

Follow it anyway, or use Keychain First Aid. If you don't want to be harassed for your password every time, Keychain isn't doing you any favors, so delete it and create a new one. It is only necessary to populate it once for each service that requires your password.

If it is only Calendar and Contacts that repeatedly ask for your credentials then you may be able to solve that problem by de-selecting each of those services in System Preferences > iCloud, and selecting them again. If you are using non-Apple services for contacts and calendar information review those accounts in System Preferences > Internet Accounts.

Yosemite introduced significant changes to iCloud and related authentication, so that may be all that's required.

Back up all data before proceeding.

Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ In the Finder, select Go Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.

Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.

If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.

Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select

              Change Settings for Keychain "login"

In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.

    From the menu bar, select

              Keychain Access Preferences... First Aid

There are four checkboxes in the window that opens. Check all of them. if they're not already checked. Close the window.

    Select

              Keychain Access Keychain First Aid

from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access.

I completely reset my keychain a couple of days ago and again I am seeing problems today where "Keychain not found". Something is broken in Yosemite.
