Oct 27, 2014 5:47 PM in response to rahotzby William Paplham,I've have internet issues, but it works for extended periods, then rapidly drops and regains internet. When it happens it's about 1x/sec, repeated fro extended periods. Main reason I noticed is hardware growler.
This is two repeats, but I've come back to the computer I can have over 1000 messages. At 5 messages or so per incident that's a 100+ cycles at time.

This typically happens when I'm not at the computer. The few times I've seen it in Airport utility it looks like a failure between my airport router and the cable modem. But 3 other computers, all Mavericks and WIFI don't seem to be affected other than slow internet.
Other observations. Noticed it was assigning a new IPv6 address each time. I looked at my settings and I didn't have IPv6 configured. Tests on IPv6 websites confirmed IPv6 wasn't configured correctly. I did set IPv6 set up and was able to connect to the test sites correctly. Didn't seem to make a different. Disabled again.
I do run Little Snitch. Turned that off and on again. Didn't seem to fix (or cause when turned back on).
I also use a VPN. Again, turning off didn't seem to affect issues.
Right now it hasn't repeated for over 24 hours. Crossing fingers.

Nov 1, 2014 9:15 AM in response to alxmoby JPieters,Your solution worked for me Alxmo - thank you!!!
1. Open Network Preferences
2. In the Locations drop down box, select "Edit Locations..."3. Create a new location
4. Remove the ethernet device, click apply
- note, the first time I tried this it didn't work, I think I missed clicking apply
5. Add a new ethernet device, click apply
Wait. it's takes a second or two, but you should get a message that the cable is connected, and second or two later an IP address.

Nov 10, 2014 10:23 AM in response to h11mm1ch43lby DeZincVolt,Hello,
I can hardly believe it but h11mm1ch43l solutions worked out!
I had to use another name (ethernet 2 i/o ethernet) and it simply connected.
Thanks a ton, I've been spending hours restarting my network over and over again for no result.

I have tried all solutions on the thread - still looking for a cable connection.
Any other ideas?
Thanks
