Q: how to get photos from old 2010 iPod touch into iPhoto when iPod isn't recognised

Our mac 2010 IMac recently died- the hard drive completely failed and is corrupt, taking with it our entire lives with it (no we didn't back it up either) my question is: We have a very early (maybe 2009) iPod touch with over a 1000 photos on, how do i get them into our new IMac iPhoto?

* Plugged in ipod

* Theres no option to allow disc usage

* iPhoto doesnt recognised the iPod as being connected

* Ipod doesn't shoe in my devices outside of iTunes i.e. in finder

* Attempted to make a full back up of the iPod in iTunes but it keep crashing iTunes with an unspecified error

totally stuck....

Many thanks for any help.

Ipod touch, iOS 1.x, very early could be 1st Gen

    try put your ipod to safe mode

    Hold power and Home button until the screen goes black then remove finger from home while continuing to hold power. Once you see the Apple logo-hold the volume up button until the springboard loads. If the device is in Safe Mode the tweaks will be gone under the setting menu.

    Exit Safe Mode:

    Simply restart or reboot the device. This should bring everything back to normal. The tweaks should be visible in the settings menu now.

    Chances are the last tweak you installed before the problem started occurring will be the one you need to remove. However, thats not always the case but definitely a good place to start when eliminating problems. So check out our video below on how to enter and exit Safe Mode.

Anytime I have problems this is the first thing I go to for fixing it. This is definitely the simplest way of removing bad tweaks.
