Q: cannot send emails from using smpt.gmail get message Gmail (Offline). Tried repair doctor
Using my iMac 2.7 GHz core i5 with OS X Yosemite operating system I am having difficulty with sending emails. Email system Gmail. When I try to send or forward emails I get a message, the SMTP connection to sever "smtp.gmail.com" failed. Gmail (Offline). Tried connection Doctor but to no resolve. This problem only started yesterday. Any ideas on how to resolve this problem. I've read somewhere to contact server but cannot email.

Hi,
In Mail > Preferences > Accounts choose the Gmail one.
Lower down is th listed STMP server in a drop down tab.
Use this and Select the Edit option at the Bottom.
You need to make sure it is set to use SSL (in the Advanced tab)
That it lists your ID and has the Password you use with Mail at Google (I.e if you have two step verification it must be the one for the app)
The Authentication should also list "Password"
If the Connection Doctor shows the STMP side still not logging in go to the Google Web Site and login
From your name top right select the Account option then Security.
In here select Less Secure apps and try the app again.
