Q: Can't download/install apps from Mac App Store

Meanwhile, the App Store is still broken in 10.6.8. Still hoping this will get fixed soon...

It appears that the issue has been fixed today. I can finally install and download apps including Yosemite.

Works for me too. Yippee!

BTW, about a 2 hours ago I received a call from Apple techs who I spoke to last week and they believed it would be fixed in 2-4 weeks.

I'm at the Apple Store right now and having them install Mavericks. Oh well... at least I saved $20. Yosemite is free, but I can't deal with bugs right now so will go with Mavericks for now.

All right, it's working again!

I think I'll have to take some time to mentally prepare myself before attempting Yosemite, though :-)

Good news. It's funny. I just bought an update to Mavericks, which was delivered via a download rather than through an update. It cost $20 that I didn't have to spend. Oh well. For a few minutes, the problem had been solved, and the Mac App Store and the Lion install worked great. If I had just waited a FEW more minutes. <G>

Apple did a great job fixing this problem in such a timely manner.

I wonder why it was $20, Mavericks was a free upgrade from Apple, just like Yosemite.

All, Snow leopard to Yosemite app store download issue looks resolved now by apple. I'm able to download all apps from app store and upgrade from 10.6.8 to Yosemite.

I called apple support chat last night and was walked through force close of apple store, rebooting in safe mode and reopening Apple Store.  After a couple downloads and about 10 minutes I was in business!  Thank you Apple Support!

why isn't this update provided by Apple directly?!

No update seems to be available for my mac. Maybe this update is for 64bit processor

No offense but this is not solved at all! It's happening to me!

Same with me, cant update trough App Store  10.10.1

Click Apple icon upper left in Snow Leopard, then click "Software Update".

Reboot system then click "Software Update" again, typically there's a few updates from fresh install.

By the 2nd update it should allow you to "download" newer software etc.
