Q: made a slide show with music in iPhoto. When I opened it in Aperture the images were completely out of order?

Used iPhoto in 1907 to make a slideshow with music.  When using Aperture now the images are completely out of order.  Aperture sends message that if I edit anything in Aperture I won't be able to edit in the future in iPhoto.  What to do?

What do you mean by 1907?   And what are your versions of iPhoto and aperture?

Do you still have a compatible iPhoto version? The open the library in iPhoto and edit your slideshow there.

Otherwise the warning is correct. If you edit an iPhoto slideshow in Aperture, you will not be able to edit it in iPhoto. So you'll have to make up your mind,  if you want to use the slideshow in iPhoto or Aperture.  That ill not affect the library. You will be able to work with the library in both applications. Only that particular slideshow will no longer be edtable in iPhoto.

As a work-around:  Duplicate the slideshow. The copy wilt need much extra storage. But then you can edit the copy in Aperture, and th original will still work with iPhoto.

obviously a few issues.  (I'm old, ok?) 2007 is the correct year.  iPhoto is version 9.6, Aperture is 3.6.  Any idea why the images are in a completely different order in Aperture than iPhoto?  The original was iPhoto.  Any way to know how big the total slideshow is?  I want to copy it to a UBS flash drive and I need too know how big a flash drive I need.  The finished product is in my documents, made with Ken Burns and set to music via Apples old program. When I bring it up it comes up with:

                       - bash - 80X24

QuickTime Player 7 has video codecs, that are missing in the newer versions. You can download and install it from the support site using this link:

QuickTime Player 7 for Mac OS X v10.6.3 or later

You may still have Quicktime Player 7 installed. Have a look inside the folder Applications > Utilities.

    - bash - 80X24

That looks like you launched a Terminal window and not a Console window.

You'll find the Console app in Applications > Utilities

When you open the slideshow in Aperture, how is the sorting set? Check the sorting pop-up menu above the film strip:

If you sorted the photos manually in iPhoto, it should still show "Manual".
