Nov 23, 2014 4:45 AM in response to jaygee85by Sam Iam,So I'm guessing as of today, there is no fix for this... I noticed this when I updated, but since none of the people I know who have mac and iPhone have experienced this, I thought it was just my phone or computer, I guess this is bigger than I thought. I also noticed, that since it has stated doing this, that my battery life has gone down hill, but when I connect and there are no duplicates showing when I'm charging, and syncing, my battery life is better????

Dec 1, 2014 7:18 PM in response to jaygee85by cjmas5,★HelpfulI had this problem in iPhoto 9.6 (iPhone 5s) and this fixed it for me...
On the right, under devices, right-click on your device and click unmount. Unplug your iPhone from the charging cable and replug it back in.

Dec 2, 2014 5:13 AM in response to jaygee85by amar111,Seems like this issue hasn't been resolved as yet as I am experiencing the same problem of duplicate photos when I want to import photos from my iPhone 5s to iPhoto. I have updated to the latest versions on both iPhone and iMac but it hasn't worked for me.

Dec 2, 2014 8:41 AM in response to jdlumagbasby Oknem,Just off the phone with someone from apple. For some people (incl me) it seems that the problem is that the iphone (6) (on 8.1.1) imports the actually photo but also the photo stream photo (marked as IMG_xxxx_2)
When I go: Settings>iCloud>Photos and switch off "My Photo Stream' before uploading photo's into iPhoto, the problem is gone.

Dec 5, 2014 5:52 AM in response to jaygee85by eliste,I'm having this problem too.
iPhone 5S iOS 8.1.1
Mac OSX Yosemite 10.10.1
iPhoto 9.6
iCloud is already turned off for all my photos, both on phone and on my Mac, so I don't see how it can be that. I'm fairly confident this only started happening when I updated iPhoto.

Dec 19, 2014 2:26 PM in response to raffaele.raby marnixva,V 8.1.2 on iPhone 6+
Camera HDR on auto.
iCloud -> Photos == off
Photos & Camera -> My Photo Stream == off
V 10.10.1 Yosemite on mid-2009 iMac
V 9.6 iPhoto
Still duplicating.
I've had this on and off over the past year. At first I thought it was due to HDR being on or on auto, but when that's on, I can see an HDR indicator in Photos on my iPhone and I get duplicates with no HDR indicator anywhere. The duplicate has suffix _2 in the picture's file name. Because this trouble has come and gone and come back several times, I think it might be coming clear if/when I power cycle my iPhone.

Dec 19, 2014 2:33 PM in response to marnixvaby LarryHN,Some people have reported that if you dismount the phone and then remount and sync the Dups do not appear - I don't sync but use MyPhotoStream instead so have not tested this
