Dec 20, 2014 2:32 AM in response to jloc2013by léonie,★HelpfulWhat are your camera RAW settings?
Apple supports only the uncompressed RAW format "RAW L" for the Nikon D810.
See: OS X Yosemite: Supported digital camera RAW formats - Apple Support
†Nikon RAW L format only.
Latest software is a bit ambiguous - have you upgraded to Yosemite and Aperture 3.6? The RAW Support for Nikon D810 requires at least Aperture 3.4.

Dec 20, 2014 4:42 AM in response to léonieby jloc2013,Thank you for the reply, I appreciate it, however, the problem remains. The RAW settings are in L, I have taken samples in the possible compression modes within the L size the camera has but to no avail. This problem only started when I updated a couple of days ago the firmware version of the camera from C1.00 to C1.02 (it has two modes C and L). Last week (before uploading this firmware update) I took more than a hundred pictures and there was no problem. This update was related to the bright spots some cameras had (mine did not have the problem). I have Aperture 3.6 and Yosemite versions already.
In other forums I have read the same problem exists for Lightroom

Dec 20, 2014 4:54 AM in response to jloc2013by léonie,★HelpfulCan Aperture still import the the RAW files you have taken, before you updated the firmware in your camera? Try to export an older RAW file from Aperture and to reimport it.
If Aperture can read your older RAW files, you'll have to contact Nikon.
If the older RAW files also can no longer be read, this might be caused be the most recent RAW Support update, and you may need to revert to an earlier version of RAW support.

Dec 20, 2014 7:09 AM in response to léonieby jloc2013,Problem solved. Sorry folks, thank you Leonie for your concern and efforts. I thought it was unlikely that either Nikon or Apple were wrong, and rather considered it had to be a problem with the camera or the memory card I used to install the update. I thought of reinstalling the update with a different memory card. It worked, miraculously my pictures came back and, more reassuring, I expect the next will also be OK. The problem turned out to be a malfunction of either the camera when I installed the update or the memory card I used for the update. Thank you for your time and suggested solutions. My best regards, jloc
