Q: how do i get an app to be recognized under the camera setting to be able to use the scanner?

I have an app called goodreads and an in order to use the scanner it says I need to let the camera have access. to do so it is saying to go to settings, privacy camera and allow access to the app well I do that but under the camera it doesn't have that app listed and I don't know how to get it so it is there? I have tried deleting the application and reloading it and still nothing. any advice?

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.4

Or you can try to sign up with different credentials and be sure to select at least 1 Favorite genre. Then go to More/Reccomendations and see if you get the Barcode symbol. Then select Yes and this will change device settings. Then sign in with your real credentials and your set

    TThat means you're allowing access to your camera roll when you access the app - like Instagram.

     

     

    doesnt mean when you open the camera roll - good read will be an option like Facebook, Flickr, twitter...

    im sorry I am confused at what your trying to say. If I click privacy, camera, the ONLY thing that I have for an application under it is myfitness pal. So if nothing else is listed under it how do I allow it to have access.  iv posted my question to good reads on there page as well. Iv clicked on the app for goodreads and it doesn't have ANYTHING to do with giving me an option for camera.

    Hi Jenna,

    have you signed up/in to the app? If so tap the More menu @ lower left.

    NOw select Reccomendations. In the upper left you should see a Barcode symbol, select this and you will get a Pop up asking to allow Goodreads to access the Camera. Select Yes and your all set.

    Hi Imodztech,

    So I have logged in, clicked the more menu and recommendations but after that I don't see any barcode symbol in the upper left corner. the only thing in the upperleft is the < to return me back to the more menu. I was so hopeful LOL. any other suggestions?

    Do you remember when you signed up did you choose a category you were interested in?

    Sounds like you lyou need to do a Day 1 install. This can only be done by deleti the app for 24hrs then reinstall and go thru the setup menu. Select at least 1 favorite genre then open More menu and you should get the Barcode symbol.
