May 5, 2014 11:19 AM in response to walldogklby bck24,I followed these instructions very carefully but iBackupBot hung on restore towards the end. Maybe something has changed with iOS7 since you posted this back in 2013.

I got a brandnew shiny 5s and updated it from icloud, but what? the restriction code updated along with the rest of my stuff. I don't want the restriction code any more, I thought restoring from the cloud was the answer? help/sigh/

Oct 6, 2014 7:47 PM in response to jjkboswellby BrookeJakayla,I have figured out how to reset password. I recently cracked my screen and went to the apple store for them to replace it. As you all know iOS 8 just recently came out and along with it 3rd party keyboards. Well in one specific keyboard app, to get a certain feature you have to upgrade the app which is an in-app purchase which was restricted on my previous phone. I forgot the password of course and once I got the replacement phone the Genius who helped me told me either I can keep the replacement phone will the new iPhone factory settings (seeing as all my contacts were still there and I didn't lose any pictures or anything important since they were all backed up on the computer) or I could take it home to restore . If I kept the new iPhone factory settings i could change the restrictions code since its no longer locked but if I restored my phone the same restrictions password and same 9 failed attempts would still be there. What i did was changed the restrictions code, bought the in app purchase and then restored my phone using iTunes with crossed fingers hoping that after the restore it didn't change back. Sure enough after the restore my restrictions password was the new password and I still had my in app purchase. Hope this was helpful I know some of Apple's rules can be a bit of a pain but i found away around it

Dec 25, 2014 10:31 AM in response to Marcin2011by DreaRoss,Replying to this old thread since it helped me recover the restrictions passcode on my daughter's 4S (iOS 7.0.2); hope this helps others, too. It's how I spent most of Xmas Day so far so her new 6 (which we restored from the 4S) could have Safari enabled. Very happy to share that it worked!
I used iPhone Backup Extractor as described by Marcin2011 through step 5. After that, find the file "com.apple.restrictionspassword.plist" rather than "com.apple.springboard.plist" then Google "ios7hash"
(The board won't let me include the link to the site, but a search will lead you to a program that will run the key/salt (obtained in the restrictionspassword.plist) and provide the pin code. Awesome.)
Best Xmas present I received all day
