Dec 11, 2014 10:22 AM in response to tony_steadby Blakeman7,Seriously, thank you. I took my computer in to Apple twice and called in to Apple support with no luck. They wanted to erase my hard drive and do a clean install of Yosemite. I chose not to let them because I have some good software, once deleted, I can't replace for free, like Office and Photoshop.
After reading your post and seeing all of the thank you replies to your post, I knew there was a chance.
Sure enough, after deleting the computer identifier in my system library, my computer works great!
Before deleting the file, when I unplugged my laptop, my CPU percentage would go up from 3% to 35% and the trackpad would skip around and become unusable. The computer acted like it was running on half power.
After deleting the identifier, my CPU usage went down to normal and my computer works as expected. I'm using it on battery right now.
Thank you very much.

Dec 25, 2014 12:04 PM in response to tony_steadby freesome19,Dear Tony,
My MBP (2012) slowed down abruptly and after trying a few fixes (That dint work) I downloaded and installed Yosemite but in vain.
It made things worse actually and I worked under 'safe mode' for a few days before I reinstalled Yosemite.
Then I realized that my MBP would work fine when plugged in.
Called apple support and played 21 questions but no improvement.
Was a little apprehensive when I came across your post given the 'disclaimer'
I finally mustered up the courage to copy the kext file on to my desktop and then deleted it from the original location, emptied the trash and restarted my computer.
VOILA !
A million thanks to you sir !

Jan 28, 2015 6:13 AM in response to ejvfragby Yodler,Thank you for your reply. I had this problem when I was on 10.7.6 but when I upgraded MacBookPro8,1 to Yosemite I tried what worked before (removing the kext file with the MBP identifier) and ....the hierarchy down to the kext file is no longer there or not where it was before under Extensions.or under a different name.....
Yosemite works blazing fine when on the charger but wheels and jumping cursor make working impossible when a healthy fully charged battery...
Needless to say your suggested fix worked on 10.7.6 just great....

Mar 6, 2015 1:50 AM in response to tony_steadby dexter_lm,I am experiencing similar problem as everyone else in this discussion. I would like to perform deleting of the aforementioned .kext file, however, due to already using Yosemite, I can no longer find it in my library. Are there any suggestions, how to perform this on Yosemite? Any help will be much appreciated.

Jul 11, 2015 10:41 PM in response to RoXy1988by ladylazarus,Can someone help me? After I installed the beta El Capitan, the problem returned and it won't let me download the file (even as root it says it's blocked and I don't have permission). I don't know if it's a beta thing... I think I'll return to Yosemite, but if someones can help me I would appreciate
