Q: Creating an Apple ID for my daughter

Hi there,

I want to set up an Apple ID for my daughter, she's 10, as she has a new iPad for Christmas. I logged into my account and started setting up her account through the family option in iCloud and read the forum page beforehand to tell me how. I accepted the terms and conditions but am told I need to change my payment details to a credit card to prove myself as being over 18 but I do not have a credit card, only debit. There is only myself and my two daughters at home and my older daughter doesnt have a credit card either and there is no one else's I could use. Please could someone from Apple advise me on how I can go around this to be able to complete my daughters registration?

Debit cards are not an accepted form of payment in an Apple ID account. You need to use an alternate form of payment. One that many use is an iTunes gift card. There can be purchased at many local store. You buy the gift card and enter the number in your Apple ID.

I Use a debit card on my own account which works fine. My older daughter uses her own debit card for her separate account which also works. I would like to know how I can verify my daughters under 18 account without the use of a credit card.
