Q: .me.com vs. .icloud.com email

Forgot my .me.com email password. It is different from my .icloud.com. How can I reset?

Can only change my Apple ID password from forgot.apple.com. Was there another URL

to change email passwords that one has forgot?

iPad, iOS 8

Your @me.com and @icloud.com are the same thing if the text before the '@' is the same and therefore have the same password.

Go to http://iforgot.apple.com and sign in with your iCloud login. A new password will be sent to your associated email address. If this doesn't work you will have to contact Support. Go to https://getsupport.apple.com . Click' See all products and services', then 'More Products and Services, then 'Apple ID', then 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Lost or forgotten Apple ID password'. If you have any problems with that try this form: https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

Yes my .me.com is different from my .icloud.com email. I think I see how to change the .icloud.com password (that one I know),

but the URL's you gave do not lead me to the results I need to change  the .me.com password.

I thought I remember a similar situation a while back. That solution offered a way to input the email address you wanted

to find the password to and then somehow offered a page to where one goes to change it. I am pretty sure it was not how

to change ones Apple ID, but then if memory were still good I would not need help.

If your @me.com ID doesn't have a non-Apple email address associated with it then Apple can't send you a new password, since they can only send it to the @me.com address which you can't access. In this case you will have to contact Support by the route I indicated above.

Again thanks for sharing your knowledge. I guess I will have to resort to calling Apple.

Not the worst experience in the world, just seems it takes forever.
