Feb 1, 2015 2:31 PM in response to Furiatorby iOS Tech Support Advisor,Hi Everyone. I am an iOS Tech Support advisor for Apple. I troubleshoot the iPhones, iPads and iPods. I had this same issue with one of my customers and I was pretty stumped as to why this error message was popping up at first. I read through some of the replies and honestly restoring back to factory settings didn't make sense to me because if the device is signed into iCloud, even if you restore it, the apple ID and password will still be present and you'll still have to sign out. So this solution WILL WORK in most cases but it is a very elongated process, especially for a minor bug/glitch like the one at hand. I had my customer perform a HARD RESET (hold power button and home button for 7-10 seconds until it powers off and you'll see the apple logo appear) When the device turned on I had her attempt to sign out again and it worked without a single problem so I would advise one should simply perform a hard reset before reverting to the full factory restore. I hope this helps you and can clear up any confusion as to why this error message pops up!
Have a wonderful day and thank you for consulting with Apple Care

Mar 10, 2015 8:18 AM in response to iOS Tech Support Advisorby sydaniel,Tried. Didn't work. I have done a hard reset at least 5 times. No luck. Still can't turn off Find My iPhone. I need to remove the iCloud ID as it is no longer existing.
I don't want to do a factory reset - I have data that I need (contacts etc). It's useless doing a restore as it'll just take me back to the same iCloud ID that is outdated.
Issue: I have forgotten my password. Tried the forgot my password steps. Apparently my birthday is wrong. There is no point sending an email to reset the password because the email no longer exists.
I have tried replacing my new primary email on my new Apple ID account with my old email just to get a password. And it works, but then I'm stuck with this "problem deregistering" error message, and I'm going around in circles.
Please help

Jun 22, 2015 12:41 PM in response to Furiatorby supernaut6011,Really starting to grow tired of Apple's bs. They have ZERO customer support online. This problem has been going on for 2 1/2 years and not once did any Apple mod step in with a solution. How many people have to write that they have had the same exact issue before you do something Apple to help solve this? There is no reason why I should have to restore my iPhone for a problem like this. I have done that 3x in the past and the issue will just arise again.
Anyway, get your chit together Apple, as you look pathetic as fck and can't even post a simple solution to solve this? Even Microsoft has their support forums figured out... Let me iterate how fcking pathetic this is Apple

This was the only solution what is worked for me, after I deleted my device under find my iPhone at icloud.com.
Thank You so much!

Nov 17, 2015 7:08 PM in response to gehirnmannby jkduty,As soon as I turned off the WIFI, this went away. I had deleted the device in iCloud and on the phone a number times, but it continued to reappear. Turning off the WIFI and back on - cleared the setting on the phone.
