Get help with visual voicemail on your iPhone - Apple Support

Also you may wind up contacting your carrier to make sure it is appropriately switched on their end - I am presuming you can make calls no problem?

Hey Vanessa.  Generally speaking you'll have to set what is known as your Visual Voicemail back up on your new iPhone.  In that past I know sometimes the carrier might set this up for you when you purchase the phone but they tend to rely more on iTunes or iCloud these days.

At any rate I have a few questions for you.  When you open Voicemail from your phone app does it give you an option for setup? (Literally should have a button that says setup)

Also which Carrier are you with?  There are certain carriers that don't support visual voicemail.  If you are still with the same carrier you had with your 4 then that won't make a difference but always good to cover our bases!

Also if anything run down the steps in this article.  It should at least get you in the right direction: Get help with visual voicemail on your iPhone - Apple Support

    Hello Dr.Bleed

Thank you so much for getting back to me on my question.

I have read up on what you said about un-supporting carriers e.g. Vodafone!!! Argh!!! Extremely Disappointed. I was with O2 previously and they supported it.

It was such a handy thing to have. And all I get offered is to download voicemail apps.

Was this what you were meaning about the carriers?

    Thanks again

You've got it!  Carrier, provider, etc.

Yes, that is strange  Honestly I've never understood why some don't support it but at the very least we know now.
