Q: I recently moved my home computer to my music studio to run pro tools. Whenever the drums are played the computer instantly shuts off. I tried going through the above steps, went into terminal, and entered sudo pmset -a sms 0. Any suggestions?

I suspect there's a hardware problem.  I'd take it in to my local Apple retail store and get it checked out right away.

Have you installed extra memory into the computer? If so and you are the one that has installed it I would shut the machine down, unplug the computer and re-install (re-seat) the memory modules. The other thing to do is insulate the computer from vibration by getting some foam insulation underneath it and make sure it's on a very solid surface. re: the foam insulation, remember the computer has to have proper ventilation, don't block any air/exhaust ports.

I'm thinking "mixing the drums", not "recording live drums".  Well, that could be vibration. And still, if that much vibration causes your Mac to shut down, either A- you're being dangerously abusive to your Mac, or B- there is a pre-existing hardware issue you need to get taken care of.
