Q: Internet Sharing stops working

So I used to share my internet from my laptop to my devices such as smartphone and iPad (from ethernet to wi-fi). It worked fine. But now, when I tried to connect my devices to the wi-fi produced from my mac, it connects, but when I try to open any browser it won't work, so devices are connected to wi-fi, but no internet connection. I've done everything to make it work again, from resetting my wi-fi setting (the one from internet sharing connection) and so on. I wonder if anybody can help me.

P.S.: Below is my wi-fi configuration, in case you need to know how it looks like.

    So look at the following image. When I turn on the internet sharing, it says that my wi-fi has the self-assigned IP Address and will not be able to connect to the internet. Means something to you?

    Yes. Internet Sharing is on, and you do not want that Wi-Fi port to connect to another Router, you want it to Host other devices. From the device doing the Sharing, it will always show a self-assigned IP Address. That is a feature.

    What is important is the IP Address of the device trying to use the shared connection, such as your iPad. If that shows an IP address in the 192.168.2.xxx range, it is working correctly as far as that part goes.

    Have you tired restarting your Mac, and restarting (or equivalent) your iPad?

    You have no idea how many times I tried thousands solutions from some forums, Mate. I feel like I'm hopeless.

    Yes, the IP address in my ipad has 192.168.2.xxx range, but then again, the IP address in my wi-fi (macbook), the self assigned one, is in 169.254.141.xxx range. So they're not in the same range. But because you said that the important thing is the IP Address ONLY of the ipad, that's not our concern, is it?

    I faced the Similar problem but I solved this....

    Just make sure you have same computer name and wifi-hotspot Network name.

    I mean..  you have to do this two steps only...

    System Preference->Sharing->Computer Name: RajibTheKingHotSpot
    System Preference->Sharing->Wifi-Option->Network Name: RajibTheKingHotSpot
    I hope it will solve this problem.

    Thank you.
