Q: Syncing iPod Touch 2nd gen and iPone 5s with same iTunes library
I have an iPod Touch 2nd gen 32GB that I purchased in Dec 2008 that I sync with iTunes. I just purchased an iPhone 5s 32GB that I would like to sync with the same iTunes library for the content (music, videos, iPod casts, photos, etc). But I don't want the same apps on both devices (in fact, I probably couldn't do this because many of the newer apps will not run on an older device). Is there a way I can do this and, if so, can you provide the instructions? Thanks
iPhone 5s, iOS 8.1, 32GB

It can be done, it just requires you to monitor the settings for the individual devices, and then iTunes will recognize they are separate devices. See this support document. How to use multiple iPhone, iPad, or iPod devices with one computer - Apple Support
